Good luck to our KOL athletes lifting at the Fitness Portal in Tawa this weekend in the Central Regional Championships. 🏋🏽‍♀️First major event of the year!

On Saturday:

1. Rihi in the F63s and Sarsha in the F69s joint session, start time 9am.

2. Andy in the M88s at 11:30am.

3. Olivia in the F77s at 2:30pm (and Tanira lifting for Turanga in the F77s)

On Sunday at 9am:

1. Kiana in the F86+s.

2. Kaiarahi in the F86s.

3. DJ in the F86s.

4. Ruby in the F86s.

Team KOL support crew will be on hand all weekend. Supporters welcome in the KOL Fanzone.

The TO Workshop was followed by our awesome Oly Clinic, covering both the Sn**ch, Clean and Jerk. We had 13 athletes come to sharpen their knowledge and technique yesterday. Run by Master Coach Hugh Lawrence, supported by Andy Jameson, and KOL athletes Ruby Meres and Jacinta Beckley. Lots of laughs but mostly lots of learning!! See you at the next one 🤩

Thanks to Kapiti Olympic Lifting for hosting yesterday’s Weightlifting New Zealand Technical Officials workshop. Five new TOs sat their exam and two current TOs had their knowledge refreshed. Lots of great questions and knowledge passed on, we now know that a unitard can be two piece and a costume is a lifting suit 😊

Not the outcome for at Nationals this year but an amazing lead in and confidence heading into next year.

Missed all her sn**ches but showed great courage to nail her signature Power Clean and Squat Jerk. 90 ✔️95 ✔️ 98 ❌️ but see you in 2026 for some more power 💪🏽💥

Mana wahine went out with a massive 6/6 lifts, PB sn**ch of 73kg, 91kg Clean and Jerk, and PB Total of 164kg. Nationals was her year and she owned it!

Despite a less than favorable lead into Nationals, Kaia bounced back with the strength and mana to stay the course and it paid off massively.

As a junior, Kaia has shown massive growth this year and there is more in the tank for 2026 and beyond 🌱

Rihi experienced her first Nationals this year and reigned supreme as the Junior 58kg class Champion🥇

First time qualifying for nationals, making a big impression for her technical skills and composure as a strong young wahine. 2026 and beyond is looking bright 🌟

Congratulations to all athletes who competed today. Everyone totaled! 👏 Massive thank you to Tonuitanga Prosperous Fitness for hosting us and 41 Degrees Weightlifting for providing the platform and competition gear. Thank you to our awesome referees and bar loaders, toughest gig of the day! And lastly thank you to everyone who helped set up and pack up, teamwork makes the dream work.
