🥋 Ko Uchi Makikomi Training

Ko Uchi Makikomi is not about forcing the throw — it is about creating the right movement and timing 👏

By establishing connection, lowering your centre of gravity, and guiding your opponent’s movement, the technique becomes much more effective.

Today’s focus:
✔ Creating connection before attacking
✔ Lowering your body position
✔ Reading your opponent’s movement
✔ Timing the entry correctly
✔ Using movement instead of strength

The best Ko Uchi Makikomi comes from control, timing, and efficient body movement 🥋

🥋 Kata Guruma Training – Part 2
Kata Guruma is often most effective when you attack as your opponent commits to their movement 👏
Rather than forcing the technique, watch for the moment your opponent steps in or begins their attack. That brief moment of commitment creates an opportunity to enter and take control.
Today’s focus:
✔ Reading the opponent’s entry
✔ Recognising commitment and timing
✔ Using the opponent’s movement
✔ Lowering your centre of gravity
✔ Technique over strength
The best opportunities often appear when your opponent is moving forward and focused on their own attack 🥋
Good Kata Guruma is built on timing, positioning, and awareness—not force.

🥋 Tai Otoshi Training
One of the most important elements of Tai Otoshi is timing 👏
When attacking to the opposite side, don't rush the turn. Wait until your opponent begins to follow and their weight starts moving in your intended direction. That is the moment to rotate and enter the technique.
Today’s focus:
✔ Reading your opponent’s movement
✔ Creating forward reaction
✔ Timing the turn correctly
✔ Direction and angle control
✔ Using movement instead of force
The best Tai Otoshi doesn't happen when you force it — it happens when you enter at the exact moment your opponent is committed to moving with you 🥋

🥋 Kata Guruma Training
A key principle of Kata Guruma is not pulling harder after entering the technique 👏
First, establish control and limit your opponent’s movement. Once their position is fixed, lower your own centre of gravity and move into the technique with your whole body.
Today’s focus:
✔ Controlling the opponent’s movement
✔ Lowering your centre of gravity
✔ Correct body positioning
✔ Entering with the whole body
✔ Using technique instead of arm strength
Once you have entered, avoid relying on pulling actions. Strong Kata Guruma comes from body position, control, and efficient movement rather than force. 🥋
