This week is all about testing strength, expressing power, pushing performance, and finishing what you started. 💪

Kia ora BFT Kapiti Community,

As we head into the colder months, we want to make sure we continue delivering the high-energy, high-quality training experience you know and love at BFT Kapiti.

After reviewing attendance patterns, member feedback, coach wellbeing, and the impact of winter sickness, we’ll be introducing a Winter Timetable starting Monday 8 June, aligned with the new training block.

This seasonal timetable allows us to:

* Maintain consistent session quality
* Support coach wellbeing so they can bring their best energy to every class
* Match session times to winter attendance trends
* Keep the training environment buzzing with fuller, more energised sessions

Our goal is simple — to give you the best possible training experience every single day, even through the colder, darker months. We’ll also be turning up the heating in the studio to ensure a warm, cosy start to your session so you can loosen up, get moving, and smash your workout 🔥

The Winter Timetable will run from 8 June throughout winter, and we’ll review it again as we head into spring.

Another week to get better, stronger, and more consistent 💪
Week 8 is all about refining movement, sharpening intensity, and trusting the process as we build toward testing week.

⚡ Monday – Power 6 212
Progression 3/4
Increased technical complexity with explosive movements like hang cleans and KB snatches. Focus on coordination, timing, and efficient power output.

⛰️ Tuesday – Summit MAS #7 392
Progression 7/8
Deload week before testing. Intensity reduced to 95% MAS to maintain movement quality and aerobic sharpness while reducing fatigue.

💥 Wednesday – Hyper (UB) 111
Progression 5/5
Final upper body progression focusing on shoulder stability, trunk control, and stronger pressing mechanics.

❤️ Thursday – Cardio U (H) 116
Progression 7/7
Final HIIT progression aimed at improving the ability to push above 90% effort, recover efficiently, and repeat across all exercises.

🏋️ Friday – Strength (LB) 483
Progression 10/12
Lower body refinement phase focused on technique, bracing, bar path consistency, and reducing fatigue before testing week.

🔥 Saturday – Shred (M) 246
Progression 4/4
Final progression combining upper and lower body strength with aerobic conditioning while maintaining movement quality under fatigue.

WELCOME TO WEEK 7 TEAM 👊🔥

Your journey, your choice — it’s up to you to make the move. If it’s cold, harden up 😤 Chuck a jacket on and show up anyway. If you’ve got nothing planned, show up. The hardest part is walking through the doors, and once you’re in, we’ll take care of the rest.

Week 7 sees us move into the peak phase of our strength work. In Strength, we’ll see the Barbell Back Squat take centre stage, while Pump will focus around the Barbell Bench Press. Volumes will lower slightly, but loads will increase, with intensities pushing back towards 90% of your 5RM. The goal here is to get members comfortable and confident under heavier loads before we deload next week and move into testing the following week.

On the conditioning side, MAS protocols will remain at 110%, however this week shifts into more of a Cardio HIIT focus — a one-off for this block. The aim is to challenge fatigue tolerance and sustained effort before tapering off next week ahead of testing.

Extended orange zone efforts focused on aerobic fitness, endurance, pacing, and performance under fatigue.

Tuesday – Pump (UB) 266 | Progression 4/4
Peak upper body progression combining controlled heavy loading with volume-based work.

Wednesday – Cardio HIIT MAS #6 398 | Progression 6/7
Highest density phase of the block targeting sprint capacity, power output, and resilience under fatigue.

Thursday – Strength (LB) 482 | Progression 9/12
Lower body strength focus with heavier intensities and controlled ex*****on leading into RM testing.

Friday – Summit 391 | Progression 6/8
Aerobic capacity session designed for sustained output and consistency across all zones.

Saturday – Crew Fit 37 | Progression 5/5
Max accumulation session pushing high intensity efforts, smart pacing, and team accountability.
