That’s a wrap on the 2026 edition of the KCU Easter Tournament!
I’d like to extend a massive thank you to everyone who played a part in making it such an incredible success. We simply couldn’t have done it without your amazing support. Below are some well-earned mentions, and I apologise in advance if I’ve missed anyone!
👏 Our Sponsors – Your support allows us to bring this event to life every year.
A special thank you to our principal tournament sponsor, Lower North Electrical, and club sponsor Fixit Fitzy for your year-round support of KCU.
A special mention also to two businesses who answered our SOS:
Maclean Street Fish Supply, for helping us dispose of waste oil from the fryers over the weekend, and Chill Refrigeration, for covering the hire costs of the chiller.
👷🏼♂ KCDC – Trevor and the Team, thank you for your ongoing support and for preparing the pitches so well — they looked fantastic and were ready for action.

⚽ Coaches, Managers & Volunteers of All Clubs – Your time and dedication helped create an amazing experience for around 1,000 junior and youth players. That’s what it’s all about.
🤝 Te Kotahitanga FC – Thank you for your support both leading into and during the tournament, especially President Alan Jones and Youth Coordinator Jo Baker.
💙💛 Kapiti Coast United Members & Senior Players – Particularly Hearts and Zimmer Force. There are simply too many to name, but you know who you are, thank you.
💙💛🩵 Our Teenage Volunteers – We want to acknowledge the many young people who gave up full days, and in some cases full weekends, to help. You are outstanding and a real credit to KCU, TK, and the wider Kapiti Coast community.
🟨🟥 Referees – Iain Mackay and Will Pugh.
These two legends were the only referees who volunteered this year, yet we still managed to cover every youth game and countless junior matches. They barely stopped for three days straight, incredible effort.
🦸♂🦸♀ Committee & Junior Committee – Finally, a massive thank you to our incredible committee members, who give countless hours of their time and energy to make this tournament happen. In particular: Billy, Helen, Liam, Liz, Niall, Rachel, Scott, Troy and William. At times sitting on a committee is a thankless task, but please be assured, your efforts do not go unnoticed.

2026 marks the 50th anniversary of this fantastic pre-season tournament, we can’t wait to celebrate it with you all next year.
