Wairua Jiu Jitsu is hosting its first In-House Competition on the 3rd October 2026

The competition is Gi only, and all Gracie affiliated gyms are welcome to take part.

We'll be putting our club athletes up against stiff competition from other clubs, and we'd love to see you all there!
Whether you're a seasoned competitor or a first-time competitor, there's a place for you on the mat!

This Saturday, Wairua Bjj hosted a Gracie Jiu Jitsu self-defense seminar with Maestre Bira Daitx of Mai Dojo Wellington.

Using self-defense techniques that come straight from the Gracie family, Maestre Bira showed us how to create distance, disarm, control, and disable attackers, stay aware of our surroundings while taking opponents to the ground.

Many thanks to everyone who attended, particularly those who traveled from out of town.

This seminar also celebrated 6 months since Wairua Jiu Jitsu opened its doors in Paraparaumu! We've experienced exponential growth; our Wairua family continues to expand every week!
