As a committee, we wanted to take the opportunity to properly celebrate Kim and her incredible tenure as our President.
As you can probably imagine, surprising Kim with anything is damn hard. She is the eyes, ears and usually the mouthpiece of the club, and she often tries to keep any recognition directed her way nice and quietβ¦ but we werenβt going to let that happen! π
So, hereβs the thingβ¦ if our maths is correct, Kim has been President for 12 YEARS. Yepβ¦ 12! π Although Kim seems to think itβs only 10 β donβt worry Kim, this is where having a committee comes in clutch!
12 years is an incredible commitment and, to put it into perspective, Kim has been President for just shy of a quarter of Business Houseβs entire lifetime. Itβs a huge testament to her dedication and loyalty to this club.
Weβre not sure Business House would be the same netball club without Kim. β€οΈ
Kim has created a warm and welcoming club that people genuinely want to be a part of β and once theyβre here, want to stay at. She has such a way with words; she can be both empathetic and straight to the point, making sure people feel heard while still getting the message across.
Sheβs amazing at thinking on her feet, has copious amounts of people and problem-solving skills, and somehow always manages to bring a laugh into the mix. She gives so much to this club, and it shows in the community she has helped create.
So, because Kim is so hard to surprise, the committee decided to create something she couldnβt quietly dodge! π
We have created the Presidential Award, with Kim as its very first recipient. π
Each year, this award will be given entirely at the discretion of the President β whether itβs for an outstanding season, dedication to the club, going above and beyond, or simply because someone made them laugh. Itβs the Presidentβs award to give, for whatever reason they choose!
A huge thank you to our talented Helen and her partner Glen for creating this beautiful trophy, and to Helen for generously donating it to the club. β€οΈ
Congratulations Kim β 12 years and counting! We are incredibly lucky to have you, and we hope you know just how much we appreciate everything you do.
