Not every session feels motivated.
Not every day feels energised.

Showing up tired, distracted, flat, or stressed still counts.

In fact, those days are often the ones that build the most resilience.

Some weeks feel strong.
Some feel like you’re going backwards.

Hormones, sleep, stress, life load — all influence performance.

This isn’t failure. It’s physiology.

Consistency over time is what creates real change.

the home studio is currently full and now operating a waiting list.

Thank you to everyone who trains in this space.

As Aroha Fitness grows, I’m adapting how I offer support.

1:1 training spaces are almost full, so I’m working on online coaching packages with accountability for women who want structured, supportive strength training in a more flexible format.

This feels like a natural next step. More soon.

If your sleep has changed in midlife, you’re not imagining it.

Hormonal shifts can affect:
• falling asleep
• staying asleep
• early waking
• night sweats or restlessness

While we can’t control hormones entirely, sleep hygiene and routine matter more than ever:
• consistent bed and wake times
• limiting screens late in the evening
• winding down before bed
• supporting your nervous system, not stimulating it

Good sleep supports energy, recovery, mood and strength training — and it’s not about being perfect, just consistent.

Your body isn’t broken.
It’s adapting — and it needs support.

January often comes with pressure to change everything at once.

New routines.
New rules.
New expectations.

But trying to overhaul your whole life in one go rarely lasts.

Real progress comes from small, sustainable habits:
• showing up consistently
• building strength gradually
• fuelling your body well
• adjusting when life gets busy

These small changes compound over time — and that’s where the big changes come from.

There’s no rush.
Consistency beats intensity, every time.

I’m almost at capacity for personal training spaces.

Aroha Fitness is designed for women who want to feel strong, capable and supported — particularly through midlife, menopause and beyond — without extremes, punishment or pressure.

To protect the quality of coaching and support I offer, I keep client numbers limited.
If you’ve been thinking about starting strength training, rebuilding confidence or getting consistent with a plan that actually fits your life, please don’t delay.

A small number of spaces remain.

You don’t need to cut yourself down to start the year well.

January often becomes a list of things to remove:
❌ sugar
❌ carbs
❌ treats
❌ “bad” foods

But what if this year you asked a different question?

👉 What could I add in to support my body?

More protein to keep you strong and satisfied
More vegetables for fibre, micronutrients and gut health
More regular meals so your nervous system feels safe
More fuel so your training actually works

Especially for women — and especially in midlife — restriction often backfires.
Low energy. Poor recovery. Cravings. Mood dips. Training that feels harder than it should.

Instead, try noticing:
✨ how you feel when meals are balanced
✨ how your energy holds through the day
✨ how your body responds when it’s fuelled, not punished

This year doesn’t need to start with deprivation.
It can start with nourishment, strength and self-trust.

Train strong. Eat to support your body 💛

As this year comes to a close, I just want to say thank you 🤍
Thank you for showing up, trusting the process and being part of the Aroha Fitness community in all the big and small ways.

This year has been about consistency, resilience and learning to meet ourselves where we are — not where we think we should be. I’ve felt incredibly grateful to work alongside so many people who value strength, wellbeing and self-respect over quick fixes.

Looking ahead to the new year, I’m excited. There’s growth, evolution and some positive changes on the horizon — all with the same heart behind them: sustainable movement, feeling strong in your body and wellbeing that supports real life.

Here’s to a new year of looking after ourselves with more kindness, more patience and a little more confidence in what our bodies can do.

Thank you for being here.
Happy New Year ✨

Christmas at Aroha Fitness 🎄

As the year comes to a close, I just want to say thank you.
Thank you for showing up.
Thank you for choosing care, strength and consistency over perfection.

This time of year isn’t about pushing harder or earning your rest.
Movement can be gentle. Rest and recovery is important.
A walk, a stretch, a swim, a laugh - it all counts.

If training supported you this year, hold onto what felt good.
If it didn’t, that’s OK too. There is no deadline for looking after yourself.

Strong bodies and resilient humans are built through small, repeatable acts of self-care, not guilt or extremes.

Wishing you a Christmas filled with connection, calm, and kindness toward yourself.

As the year starts to slow down, it’s a great time to think about how you want next year to feel - not in a New Year’s resolution way, but in a realistic, sustainable one.

If staying strong, mobile and consistent is on your radar for next year, getting in early makes it so much easier.

Training spots for 2026 are opening soon 💛
No pressure. No “new year, new you”.
Just support, structure and strength that fits real life.

Message me if you’d like to lock something in early or talk through your options.
