🏆🌊 THAT’S A WRAP — 2026 Eastwood Motor Group North Island Spearfishing Champs! 🌊🏆

What a day. What a turnout. What a community.

Massive thank you to all the divers, boatmen, sponsors, volunteers, organisers, spectators and auction attendees who showed up and made this event such a success on so many fronts. It takes a huge team to pull off a comp like this — and once again, our spearfishing whānau delivered.

From the water to the weigh-in, the auction to prizegiving and post prizegiving celebrations… it was one to remember.

Check out the final positions and congratulations to the new North Island Spearfishing Champions Nat Davey & Ben Laurie. Also a great effort by Jaidyn Milne & Tyler Zimmerman taking out the B Grade(see you in open grade next year lads).

Kapiti Underwater Club are stepping up — putting a set of Ruku Fins up for auction! 🙌

And that’s not all… Oceanhunter have come to the party with a Kaiwaka to auction off as well — with ALL proceeds going to Mary Potter Hospice ❤️

Absolute class.

And yet more prizes!!!! Even after the tough time they’ve had with the south coast disaster💩, Oceanhunter Wellington have helped us out yet again. We have dive bags, chiller bags, booties, gloves, ponchos, torches, 3 x breath hold course vouchers, a voucher for Ruku Tim Li blades… the list just keeps going! 🤯

We’re officially two weeks out from the North Island Spearfishing Champs, and the energy is building!

As we get closer, we ask everyone to please take a moment to review the competition rules, awareness of the Marine Reserve area and familiarise yourself with the approved fish list.

This helps keep the day running smoothly and ensures a fair, safe, and enjoyable competition for everyone involved.
