A special day for Kaipātiki Ora 🌿
Today we marked an important milestone at Kaipātiki Hot Springs, with the official opening and welcoming of Kaipātiki Ora.
The morning began with a karakia and tikanga-led opening of the space, led by Ngāti Whātua o Kaipara as we moved through the new wellness area and acknowledged each part of the offering.
It was a privilege to share this moment with representatives from Ngāti Whātua o Kaipara, Te Poari o Kaipātiki ki Kaipara, Auckland Council, Tātaki Auckland Unlimited, our local MP, local stakeholders, Belgravia Leisure, contractors and members of the Kaipātiki Hot Springs team.
Speakers included representatives from Ngāti Whatua o Kaipara, Te Poari Chairperson Mihi Blair, Kaipātiki Hot Springs General Manager Dion Tilson, and Belgravia Leisure CEO Nick Cox.
Kaipātiki Ora is a new geothermal wellness experience within Kaipātiki Hot Springs, created as a place to slow down, reconnect and experience the contrast of natural geothermal warmth, steam and cold-water immersion in a peaceful garden setting.
This opening marks the next step in the renewal of Kaipātiki Hot Springs, while continuing to recognise the cultural, community and wellbeing significance of this special place.
We would like to sincerely acknowledge everyone who has helped bring Kaipātiki Ora to life, including Te Poari, Ngāti Whātua o Kaipara, Auckland Council, Belgravia Leisure, our venue team, and the many contractors and suppliers who have worked so hard to complete the space.
A special thank you also to Milly’s Catering for supporting today’s event.
We are proud of what has been achieved and excited to welcome the public into Kaipātiki Ora from this week.
Ngā mihi nui to everyone who has been part of this journey.
