Year 8 player wanted

Due to a season ending injury we now have space in our year 8 team - playing in Intermediate C. While a shooter would be ideal any position will be considered.

The season is about to kick off with the Intermediate teams playing tomorrow and the collegiate teams next weekend. Good luck to all our teams in these grades.

Papakura Netball Centre follows the sportsmanship philosophies of Love their Game. We support this programme and ask all our players, supporters and spectators to:
- respect umpires, particularly those young or developing umpires who are learning too
- positive and supportive sideline behaviour
- no sideline coaching from spectators - leave it to the coach - just be the cheerleader

An important reminder for all grades to respect the safety of our players especially the young ones - no livestreaming of games, as this is an organised competition and we must respect the privacy and safety of players. Check in with your team before posting photos of kids on your own private pages.

Under 15 (year 9 and 10) - Monday 9 February 6pm

Coaches wanted

We are looking for collegiate grade coaches - both College Prem and lower grade levels.

We will also have some vacancies in Year 1-6 if you are looking to start a coaching journey. The lower grades are a great place to start if you are a college student.

The club supports all coach development courses.

Maybe you already have CCA1 and are looking for an opportunity to move up to CCA2.

Maybe you have finished playing and are looking to give back and stay involved in netball.

Monday 9 February - All Collegiate and U15 (years 9-13)

Wednesday 11 February - Intermediate (year 7-8)

For years 1-6 it is online registration only - closing Friday 20 February and then we will be in touch to work out the teams.

Online Casino Gambling Bill / Sport Sector collective voice / public submission guide

Community Sport is Under Threat!

The Government’s Online Casino Gambling Bill does not ensure that any revenue from online gambling will be returned to communities — including grassroots sport. Currently gambling through the likes of pokies and TAB put a percentage back to the community.

If this Bill passes in its current form, the future of our club and Netball Centre, along with countless other centres and clubs, will be at risk. Funding that helps maintain our facilities, run competitions and programmes, and keep sport affordable for families is disappearing as online gambling grows.

Congratulations to Zoe McLeod and Ava Vincent who recently got their junior badges. Now going from strength to strength in some tough College games in the Wednesday CMSS competition. Sometimes hard to remember they are both only year 8!! So proud of them.
