Adventure Report 24 February 2024

A great morning to head out on the manukau, variable wind, incoming tide. All the makings of an excellent session on the water. Fishing in around 5m of water got enough for dinner in around 1.5hrs. Really healthy looking fish and all put up a great fight. Softbaits producing some nice size fish, bait doing well but fish seemed a bit smaller! Luck of the draw. All snapper around the 350 and some other up to around 450. Excellent time on the water. Already planning the next trip!

Adventure Report 21/02/2024

Early evening outing today, 1 yak fishing baits and the other fishing micro jigs. With 1.5hrs remaining on the incoming tide we got out and into it as quick as possoble. Again, Lots of little snapper around, some just cracking the 300 so went back to get a bit bigger. 2 Tricky Trevs caught, both around the 350 mark. Fishing in 6 to 8m of water off Okahu Bay. Bite time slowed down as expected at high tide so pulled the pin and headed for home.

Great evening on the water and fish for the smoker!

Adventure Report from Sunday 18 Feb 2024

Went out from Hatfields Beach to fish the last half of the incoming tide. Pretty hard going in around 8m of water with lots of 30cm snapper being caught and returned to fight a other day and a few bigger that dropped the hook but ended with enough for dinner around the 35cm mark. With a northerly picking up to 15 knots and a bit of rain we pulled the pin and retreated to the Waiwera Pub for an enjoyable pint before heading home. Another great afternoon on water!
