Manawatū Rugby Football League Inc concludes the final week of Domestic Rugby league on Coronation Park, this Sunday. Thanks to all the kids, parents and volunteers, who over the past 12 weeks have been involved with the programme.

Introduction:

End of season tournament was planned and designed to collaborate with establishing a one (1) day tournament, to be held at 504 Tremaine Ave, Coronation Park, Palmerston North, with the intent to consolidate the mini-mod programme fundamental skills around CATCH, PASS, RUN, TACKLE.
TOURNAMENT SEQUENCE:

1. 730am – MRL will set up field, each field to be roped off individually.
a. Can set up Club GAZEBO if they wish,
b. Teams to provide own refreshments and kai,
2. 1000am - First games kick off,
a. Games will be as per the Mini-mod and safe play code rules,
b. All games will be 10mins each way, with a 2 min change around

3. 14s Boys Final, Teams to ensure players are registered and up to 20 players max per team, to be played at 1pm on Field 1 and will be refereed by an MRLRA referee.
4. Unlimited Substitutions,
5. Each team to match manages,
6. Provide a touch judge for referees,
7. Be responsible for team supporters and club members
8. Be a Sport Vests are to be visible not invisible,
9. The tournament has a NO ALCOHOL/DRUG/SMOKING/VAPING USE Policy,

GAMES FORMATT – Pool Play timings and draw:
10. Teams will be paced Pools per grade
11. Points: 2 (win), 1 (Draw) 1 (bye) and 0 (loss).
12. Teams are on equal points after pool play, points for and against come into effect.
13. Some teams and grades will have byes, due to the amount number of teams per and the pure fact that the draw was created to have all registered teams. There will be no double ups of games.

14.U5/6 grade will have top 2, Cross over SF and then Final

15.U8s grade will have 4 pools due to the number of teams in the grade, Top 2 from each pool advances to QF - cross over Pool A vs Pool C and Pool B vs Pool D, SF - winners from Pool A/C vs winners from B/D - winners advance to the Final

16. U10s grade will have 3 pools due to the number of teams in the grade, Top 3 from pool A/B and Top 2 from Pool C, advances to QF - cross over Pool A/B vs Pool B/C, winners advance to SF - winners advance to the Final

17. U11s grade will have top 2, Cross over SF and then Final

18. U12s grade will have top 2, Cross over SF and then Final

REFEREES:
19. REFEREEs for the Mini-Mod is the responsibility of the teams and each team to referee half the games unless otherwise agreed at the beginning of the game.
20. See Field Layout as above,
a. Be a Sport Vests, be a sport signs,
b. Side line behaviour will not be tolerated,
c. Zero tolerance to sideline abuse towards the Tamariki, opposition and anyone involved in the tournament.

21. Concussion Protocols
a. “Should a player receive a knock to the head resulting in a suspected concussion, the player is to be immediately removed from the playing field and cannot return to play for the remainder of the tournament”.

b. All suspected concussions are to be reported as a serious injury on Sporty. All participating teams need to be advised of the above stand down procedure prior to the commence of the Tournament.
c. Stand down from remainder of tournament,
d. 23 days stand down period and to be registered through the below link.

f. First Aider on site: Lawrence Erihe, however teams are also responsible to mitigate injuries
g. Major injuries – St John.

The draw on the SPORTY APP will be released in due course, and all club reps will be notified.
