🥋 🇳🇿 THE BJJ RETURNS TO THE NEW ZEALAND MASTERS GAMES2027! 🇳🇿 🥋

We are proud to announce the 2nd Edition of the Jiu-Jitsu Championship at the New Zealand Masters Games, taking place on 14 February 2027 in Whanganui, New Zealand.

After a fantastic first edition, we are excited to bring the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu community together once again for another day of competition, camaraderie, and unforgettable memories.

This event welcomes athletes from across New Zealand and beyond, offering both Gi and No-Gi divisions in a professional and friendly environment. Whether you are stepping onto the competition mats for the first time or are a seasoned competitor, this championship is an opportunity to challenge yourself, represent your academy, and be part of something special.

At NZBJJF, our mission remains the same:

To grow Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu across New Zealand and create opportunities for everyone to compete, learn, and connect through our sport.

Saturday 20th June at 8am: Parkrun Palmerston North,
Meet at 7:50am on the bridle track next to the Fitzherbert Bridge
Be ready to run by 8am
You must register on www.parkrun.co.nz and bring your barcode!!! (screenshot it and save it to your phone)
Don't forget to book in on the GymMaster App too.

parkrun is a free, community event where you can walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate. parkrun is 5k and takes place every Saturday morning.

Saturday 20th June
Park Run Starts: 8:00am (refer to the Park Run post for more details)
Team Training Starts: 9:00am
Team Training Finishes: 11:00am
Bring your running shoes water bottle, towel, mouth guard & sparring equipment.
This session is compulsory for all those wanting to compete in Muay Thai, Kickboxing, MMA and Boxing bouts.
Book your spot via GymMaster Member App as there are limited numbers.

6:00am to 7:00am: SHPI Circuit
6:00am to 7:00am: Alta MMA Season 3
9:00am to 10:15am: Muay Thai
10:30am to 11:45am: Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
12:00pm to 1:00pm: Boxing
1:00pm to 3:00pm: Closed
3:30pm to 4:15pm: Kids MMA (Yr 1 to Yr 6 school students)
4:30pm to 5:20pm: Teen MMA (Yr 7 to Yr 11 school students)
5:30pm to 6:45pm: NoGi Grappling
7:00pm to 8:15pm: MMA
Don't forget to bring a water bottle, towel and running shoes to ALL classes.

We are pleased to announce that The Fight Shop NZ's Brad Morgan will be competing in the SJJIF World Para Jiu Jitsu Championships in Japan in September, followed by a professional boxing debut in Cairns, Australia in October against another Para athlete.
