The Manawatū Jets and Will Heather have mutually agreed to release Will from his playing duties for the remainder of the 2026 season.

While Will's role may be changing, his commitment to the Jets hasn't. He remains a valued and important part of our organisation and will continue supporting the team throughout the season.

You'll still see Will around the hangar on game nights, helping guide the next generation through his coaching and continuing to contribute behind the scenes. His passion for the Jets and the game remains as strong as ever.

Some flights take a different path, but they're still headed to the same destination. ✈️💚

Thank you, Will, for everything you continue to bring to this club. We're proud to have you alongside us as we push through the remainder of the season.

✈️ JETS UPDATE ✈️

The Manawatū Jets and Nate Wilson have mutually agreed to part ways for the remainder of the 2026 season, following an injury sustained during a preseason game that will prevent him from playing for the balance of the year.

While it's not the outcome anyone wanted, Nate has remained a valued part of our group throughout his recovery journey.

We thank Nate for everything he has brought to the Jets and wish him all the best with his rehabilitation over the coming months and into the offseason.

Originally from Wellington, Ahmed brings international experience from the NCAA system in the United States, along with a reputation for hard work, versatility, and doing the little things that help teams win.

A proven leader throughout his basketball journey, Ahmed captained his school side, won a national championship, and has continued to develop his game on the international stage.

Now it's time to bring that experience home.
