A good weekend for the team, topped with a couple of race wins and many improved lap times.
The crew worked well to keep the cars reliable and the drivers did a pretty good job of getting the cars back in one piece!

A good start for our rookies and a great environment for them to be in with the teams support and driver training.

This weekend the team starts the Manfield Winter Series for the 23rd year in a row.
We have 4 new drivers:
Brody McConkey, 23 from Paraparaumu
Harry Scott, 14 from Whangarei
Hamish MacKay, 17 from Hawkes Bay
Nico Pinkerton, 16 from Auckland

We also welcome 2 engineers:
Jamie Todd, 22 from Palmerston North
George Brannigan, 17 from Palmerston North

The team have put a lot of work in over the last few weeks to get the cars up to scratch. We are very excited to work with these young guys.
A comment, from team owner Dennis Martin: “a solid team effort saw steady progression throughout the day”.

The team were at the Feilding Auto Electrical Manfeild Winter series over the weekend. The team were running 5 cars including Speedsport Scholarship winner Dylan Grant having his first days at the office.

Testing saw the team having a busy day on Saturday with some much needed mileage which showed some impressive pace. One of the cars ended the day with a gearbox issue but nothing the team couldn’t handle with them working into the evening to make sure the car was ready for the morning.

A varied qualifying saw the cars spread out through the grid. The first race however saw Louis Sharp and Hayden Bakkerus ser the two fastest lap times on their way to 3rd and 4th respectively. This meant a front row lockout for races 2 and 3. Another competitive 3rd and 4th still showed promise. Race 3 though had a chang of result. Louis Sharp took the win and the chocolate fish with Hayden in 4th. Dylan had a good weekend getting some good mileage and progressing well with getting use to the car

Hayden now leads the series with one round to go

The team at Sabre Motorsport had 5 cars out at Manfeild for the 21st Speedsport Scholarship. The cars had no major problems whilst the competition was tight on and off the track to find a new Scholarship Driver

The team would like to congratulate Dylan Grant on winning the 2020 Speedsport Scholarship and look forward to the season ahead with him

Sabre Motorsport are back at Manfeild for the Feilding Auto Electrical Manfeild Winter Series. After testing yesterday the team are confident of some good results today.

An excursion for Car 30 meant that the team worked into the night to make sure the car is race ready for today.

Entry for spectators today is free so make sure you come down and see some great racing
