Club Hockey 🏑

This weekend we welcome our BDO division 1 Men and Cameron Jewellery division 1 Women back into our local club competition, while the Habit Health division 2 women enjoy a well-earned break. 👏

Competition continues as normal for our Big Barrel division 3 Men and division 4 Men on Friday night, followed by the Inspire Net division 2 Men on Saturday alongside our division 1 teams. We then round out the weekend on Sunday afternoon with the MTF Finance division 3 women. 💪

The BDO Division 1 Men’s Challenge Trophy will be back on the line this weekend, with current holders College Premier Men set to take on Marist at 3:30pm at the Cartown Twin Turfs. 🏆🏑

We look forward to celebrating our players of the match with the wonderful generosity of our sponsor Little India!!

The Twin Turfs Cafe, run by Wildflour Kitchen, will be open upstairs and Beyond The Bun will be down here Friday night and Saturday afternoon. Come down, enjoy hockey, and grab a bite to eat! 🍔

National Volunteer Week! 🤩

Club Hockey Wrap up 🏑

It was a great weekend of club hockey, with strong performances across all of our teams.

Our division 1 Men and Women completed their final weekend of the Intercity competition. It was great to see highly competitive games throughout the campaign, as well as teams coming together after matches, creating a real sense of community.

A huge congratulations to Massey Men and Levin Women for winning their respective Tier 3 Intercity finals, and to HSHC Women for finishing top of their pool and claiming the Tier 2 Women's Intercity title.

In our local club competition down at the Cartown turfs, the Habit Health Division 2 Women battled it out for the MTF Challenge Cup, with current holders Feilding retaining the cup following a 2-0 win over Massey.

We are looking forward to everyone getting back into club hockey again next weekend.

Junior hockey 🏑
Another great weekend of hockey for our Pita Pit junior hockey players 🏑

The weather managed to hold itself together so we could complete this round, but a special mention to our Sunday juniors for coping with the cold wind and a skiff or two of rain 🌧️

So good to see the skills of our players developing each week - thanks to the many amazing team coaches and managers, who give up their time to help our children 🏆

A huge thank you to all of our players, families, and supporters for heading on down, week in week out, to enjoy some time on the turf 💚

It was a great night at the Regional Sports Awards on Thursday – thank you to the team at Sport Manawatū for delivering such an enjoyable evening celebrating sport across our region.

We’re incredibly proud of our Hockey Manawatū community.

🏑⛳️ VOLUNTEERS WANTED – HMI GOLF DAY | 21st JUNE

We need your help to make our biggest fundraiser of the year a huge success!

Our Hockey Manawatū Golf Day is just around the corner on Sunday 21 June at the Palmerston North Golf Club, and with a fully subscribed field and sponsored holes, we’re looking for more volunteers to help bring the day to life.
This event plays a vital role in reducing the cost of participation for our NHC teams and supporting HMI, so every helping hand makes a real difference.

We’re looking for support across a range of roles, including:
• BBQ shifts
• Par 3 challenge holes
• Evening meal service
• Bar service
• General event support

Whether you can give a few hours or a full day, your time and energy will directly support HMI and our players and help us create more affordable opportunities for our hockey community.

Club Hockey Draws 🏑

There is plenty happening this weekend for our Hockey Manawatu Club teams!

Our division 1 Men and Women head into the final weekend of intercity, which means finals time. 👏 Congratulations and best of luck to Massey University Men and Levin Women on making the Tier 3 grand finals. A further congratulations to HSHC Women and Levin Men, who currently sit in the top two positions of their round robin play, wins this weekend will place them in a strong position to take out their respective Tier 2 grade. 🏆
