Getting older doesn’t mean you can’t keep moving, feel energised and continue doing the things you love...

Far from it!

You simply need to take action and put the right habits in place.

What does this look like?

It’s simple…

1️⃣ Keep active
Walk, cycle etc. keep your body moving regularly

2️⃣ Strength train 2 - 3 times per week
Maintaining your muscle mass, bone density and protecting your joints will be life-changing.

3️⃣ Stay consistent
Life is busy, we get it. Some weeks you’ll be more active than others, but the most important thing is that you keep showing up.

So are most of our clients when they first come to us...in fact it's usually one of the first things they tell us!

However, most of our clients understand the benefits of exercising - they want to feel stronger, fitter and more confident.

But usually ones a client joins us they very quickly start to enjoy it as they realise we are a bit different...they see that our clients are:

We want to let you in on a little secret…

You don’t need to live with aches and pains for the rest of your life!

Many people tell themselves it’s just part of getting older, but it doesn’t have to be this way.

We know this because we help people every day to feel more mobile, experience fewer aches, and feel more comfortable in their bodies.

The answer is strength training, also known as resistance training.

Over time, our muscles naturally deteriorate. This puts extra stress on the joints, which is why those aches start creeping in when you get up from the sofa.

By strengthening your muscles and keeping your body active, you can prevent this from happening.

So, if you’re fed up with feeling stiff and sore, put yourself in an environment where you feel safe and supported, and aim to strength train 2 - 3 times per week.

We believe that to be fit and healthy over 40 you NEED to focus on 5 things...there are others, but these 5 and pretty important (and heads up, losing weight is NOT on the list)

1) Get stronger...achieved by strength training 2-3 times per week
2) Get fitter...achieved by regular walking and getting your heart rate up 2-3 times per week (this can be done at your strength sessions)
3) Eat better...focus more on whole foods and protein (and yes, you can still eat and drink the things you enjoy)
4) Sort your sleep...late nights, scrolling on your phone in bed, thinking you can get by with 5 hours sleep (you can't), do whatever it take to improve your sleep (we have a sleep course from a world renowned sleep expert as part of all of memberships)
5) Stress management...stress is pretty much a given in life, find methods to manage it, like the previous 4..

Getting older doesn't mean that you can't exercise and get great results, but it does require some modifications...

Trying to smash it every single day is definitely not the way to go!

Here are some things you should focus on...

- Strength train 2-3 times per week
- Warming up should be a key component of every workout
- Ensure your training is tailored to you
- Supplement your strength training with general activity
- Make sure you get adequate rest and recovery time
