Race to the Brewery

Race to the Brewery Race to the Brewery is Manawatu's hottest annual sports event supporting local charities since 2011! This is a great race and a great day out.

Race day starts at the Property Brokers Head Office in Broadway Avenue with the finish line at the Tui Brewery, Mangatainoka. A relay of six stages, the race consists of a road cycle from the start line to the Manawatu Gorge, followed by a run through the gorge to Ballance Bridge. A swift uphill walk, via Hall Block Road, connecting with the mountain bike leg that traverses the North Range Road before diverting onto private farmland for downhill fun. Once at the bottom the race continues to a quick road run then onto the big finish, over hill’s and across a river to the finish line at the Brewery for a cold drink and a bit of fun. So whether you’re athlete or an amateur, competitive or just compassionate to doing your bit for important causes – The Race to the Brewery is an event you don’t want to miss.

🚴‍♀️ Wishing Manawatū Track Cyclist, RTTB Participant and Scholarship Recipient, Emily Shearman, all the best in Glasgow as she competes on the world stage this evening in the 4000m team pursuit qualifier alongside her teammates.

Tune into the Commonwealth Games coverage at 9.15 pm this evening to cheer on these incredibly talented athletes as they represent New Zealand on the track and tomorrow evening for a shot at a podium finish if they make it through tonight's qualifier.

How amazing would it be for the team to secure a medal, to pair with their Silver from the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.🥈

Emily will also be competing tomorrow at 9.30 pm in the Individual Pursuit. Do us proud, Emily; you've got this! 👊

🧡 A heartfelt thank you to all competitors, support crew, volunteers, sponsors and everyone else behind the scenes for achieving another successful Race to the Brewery event in February!

We can now officially say that just over $50K was raised from this years event, which will all go directly back into our community supporting charities and volunteer services. Don't know about you, but we think that's pretty awesome!

Pat yourselves on the back guys, as this would not be possible without your participation and support! 🙏

🏅 Kudos to our 7 incredible soloists, who all took on the entire 56(ish) km course and recorded some amazing times! You guys are bloody legends, and should be incredibly proud of yourselves! 👏

⏱ Special thanks also to our timekeepers, Tony and Russell from Red Kiwi Orienteering, for collecting this race day data for our participants, because we all know every second counts when bragging rights are on the line 😎
