On behalf of P. A.C. and the event committee and Taranaki Airsoft Rangers, thankyou again to our terrific sponsors for supporting this signature event! We loved profiling your products and businesses! without your passion for the sport and the broader airsoft community Faction Wars and 'The Zone' may not exist, and as a product of the event, be no airsoft camaraderie and epic stories!
On a side note it was great seeing awards being presented to those who conquered the zone and also those who become a statistic!!
To everyone who attended, we loved hosting you and hearing all the feedback has been so positive and encouraging! Comments like... 'Such a great Vibe'., 'Fantastic game.. so different!', 'That was epic... loved the format!' So as a club P.A.C. are really happy about how it all came together and are grateful to Taranaki Airsoft Rangers for their enthusiasm to help set up the 'The Zone' and play integral part in running NPC missions! Not to mention make their terrific field available to play on again. Big thanks to the landowner!
Highlights... there were plenty!!. There were a good bunch of additions to the game including a Mexican Burrito cantina as well as some rather novel NPC players, all of whom really kept the Factions on their toes and had them guessing continually.
What else helped make this event great??... technicals, sound effects... great costuming and brand new Faction Wars gaming/mission props and not to mention NPCs that played roles like the Military (who tried to undermine the 'Zones' currency with their own minted money... nice try guys!) and the fanatical brain-washed lunatics, 'Monolith', all played their roles exceptionally well!
There were other 'Unique' missions commissioned by a mad scientist when he wasn't trying to poison certain individuals. A Matriarch character with utronium saturated eyes that glowed red in the dark who wandered around playing checkers (not strange at all), crazed and soulless mutants that prowled the dark hours with the nullifying tune of 'soft kitty' still being hummed even into the sunrise.
The creativity and willingness of the NPC's to come up with missions and stories and act them out with such belief, conviction and improvisation really blew the organisers away!
Finally, there was the 'Bandit King Trader'.. the hub of 'The Zone'. His role was pivotal to the mission sets being given out and recorded... again.. outstanding creativity and wackiness in doing so, great work J man! Massive shout out needs to go to those that ably assisted him in the Trader tent! Great work crew!
We're not sure when 'The Zone' will stir and open up next, but if FW 6.0 is anything to go by, 7.0 will surely be as good if not better!
Thank you all!!
