Also we will give more detail on the lead up to leaving on uniform, camps, training etc.
please have a think about who may be accompanying our athletes too. We will be needing to confirm supporters travel and accom very soon.
Any questions please email us on [email protected] or pm us.

Hi all - Love seeing the acceptance letters posted all over social. If you do/have, can you please make sure you black out my details? I’d rather not be signed up to a million different scam sites. - Dane

Hi Guys
Coaches are working their way through finalising the team! Thanks for your patience….not too much longer to wait now.

Important notice regarding the HP camp in February. This will be our first official camp as the NZ team.

The date has changed.

It is now Saturday 25 February and Sunday 26 February
It will be held at St.Peter’s College Gym in Palmerston North.

All HP camps are closed except to invited guests and parent/guardian of pre-junior athletes.

Only once you know the outcome of your trial, I suggest you make plans to get to Palmerston North but there will be more detail to come about this, accommodation etc and all other camps in due course, to selected team members.

Thank you

Done and dusted! Trials, all the training and competition leading up to the overall assessment that the team have been through is complete. Well done for getting through to this point, all!

Decisions will be made by the coaching team and emails sent out to notify as soon as possible. Good luck to all and whether you make the team this time or not, keep training and don’t lose sight of your goals. It’s a big effort to even get to this point and everyone has shown that they have that special thing at drives success. All the best going forward and thanks for making this weekend awesome.

Note for the weekend as regards Covid.

If you are around others with Covid but test negative Saturday and Sunday morning you are ok to attend.

If you feel unwell with any Covid symptoms please do not attend.

If you are in isolation and will not complete your isolation period when trials are on please do not attend.

On the day if you feel unwell with Covid symptoms please let us know and withdraw.

While we all need to do what we can to limit exposure to covid and follow the MOH guidelines, we cannot 100% guarantee a covid free environment. But with your help we will minimise any chance of spreading Covid at this event.

We will have sanitizer available and ask that everyone follow guidelines for hand washing etc while with us.

Any questions or queries please get in touch with us directly.

Also, If you have an injury you feel we should be aware of too, please communicate this to us. If an injury may limit your participation we may request an evaluation from a doctor in certain cases. We take injury seriously and would be keen to talk management plans with anyone named in the team going forward.
Thanks

Not long to go now folks!!!
Just some clarity regarding supporters/spectators at trials. There is limited space available at the venue therefore we ask that people coming in to support are coaches and parents/caregivers of athletes.
Simply, the trials are not generally open to the public.
Our intention is to ensure trialists have enough space to do their thing.
Thanks for your understanding.

Hi everyone we are super excited to see you at trials this weekend! We hope your training has been going well.
Don’t forget your sparring gear/head gear and mouth guard.
Full dobok and belt.
Water bottles/snacks etc.
Packed lunch or money to buy it
The best attitude as well.

Just a note on further HP training camps…venues/locations and some dates of these these is still to be confirmed as the team has not been selected yet. Where the majority of team members are located may determine the location.
As selections have not yet taken place, this should not affect anyone at this stage.
More info on the weekend.

With trials just around the corner, please make sure that you are up to date with the latest version of the World Champs rules. There have been some significant changes so even if this is not your first rodeo, please read them carefully.

One of the more significant changes is that both male and female athletes do 5 techniques for power breaking and specialty. Please be prepared as we will be looking at all 5 techniques at trials.

You can find a link to the full set of rules here:https://itftkd.sport/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Official-ITF-Rules-of-Competition-Version-2022v2.pdf
