One of the most rewarding parts of running our Women’s Beginner MTB Skills Course is seeing the transformation that happens over just a few weeks.

Some women join having not ridden in years. Others are completely new to mountain biking. Many arrive feeling nervous and unsure of their abilities. By the end of the course, we see more confidence, more skills, more smiles, and often a few new riding buddies too. 💜

These coaching sessions are about so much more than learning bike skills. They’re about building confidence, encouraging each other, and celebrating every little win along the way.

To all the amazing women who have joined us so far, thank you for showing up, supporting one another, and being willing to step outside your comfort zones. We’re so proud of what you’ve achieved.

✨ We’d love to hear from you! ✨

If you’ve attended one of our Women’s Beginner MTB Skills Courses, please share your experience in the comments:
🚲 What made you sign up?
💪 What’s something you’ve learned or improved?
😊 What was your favourite part of the course?
❤️ Would you recommend it to other women thinking about giving mountain biking a go?

Your story might be exactly the encouragement someone else needs to take that first step.

Interested in joining our next course? Our next Women’s Beginner MTB Skills Course starts in September. Send us a message to join the waitlist.

A proud milestone for Abby, who recently completed her Professional Mountain Bike Instructor Association - PMBIA Level 1 Instructor course to complement her current Te Mahi Ako MTB Leader training.

A big thank you to Piyush from Treadmark NZ for coming up to the Waitangi Mountain Bike Park to deliver such a hands-on, practical and well-run three-day course.

It was a great opportunity to expand my knowledge, learn different teaching styles and refine how I deliver skills on the bike. I came away feeling more confident in both my own riding and the way I support others on the trails.

My main focus is helping people who are at the beginning of their biking journey feel more confident, capable and comfortable on the bike.

I know what it’s like to be starting out — that was me not too long ago. But there is nothing better than seeing that moment when something finally clicks for someone, and they start riding with more flow, confidence and enjoyment.

We have one spot left in our next Women’s Coaching Course, starting this Sunday.

If this resonates with you and you’re ready to take on the trails with more confidence, get in touch.

May was a big one for Paihia MTB 🚲✨

Abby completed her PMBIA Level 1 Instructor/Guide training, we ran our first Women’s Foundation MTB Coaching Course, and Workshop Wednesdays travelled across Northland, helping riders feel more confident looking after their bikes.

Now we’re heading into June with more coaching, more winter riding, and a big focus on getting more bums on bikes as the cooler months settle in.

Winter can make it tempting to hibernate, but staying active, getting outside, and connecting with others makes such a difference when the winter blues start creeping in.

Whether it’s joining a course, booking a ride, buying a new or second hand bike, getting a service, or simply making time to explore your own backyard, we’d love to help keep you moving this season.

Stay close, go far this winter - and come ride with us at Waitangi Mountain Bike Park.

Moody skies but not rain yet here at Waitangi Mountain Bike Park! Here’s your sign to jump on a bike and head out for a ride

🌧️ What do you do on a rainy long weekend when the beach is a blowout and the boat’s staying parked up?

Instead of watching the rain drip down the window, get out into the green!

Put on a raincoat, jump on a bike, and roll. The canopy does a good job of keeping off the worst of it - the bush has you covered. Literally. 😉

There’s something pretty special about riding through the forest with a bit of rain. The colours pop, the air is fresh, and the trails are still a heap of fun.

As we always say: no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing choices. 😝

🚵 Raincoat on.
🚲 Helmet on.
🌿 Roll on.

Fresh air, good vibes, and 50km of trails waiting.

… And when you’re done, you can warm up with a delicious hot chocolate, delectable toastie, and a devilishly good slice of cake at the legendary Pikiniki Café☕🍰😋

Don’t have a bike? See the A-Team on site at Paihia Mountain Bikes, they can rent you a ride.

Don’t let a grey day keep you indoors. The trails are calling. 🌿💚

Beauty day here today, it was awesome to see so many people out riding! A few sprinkles of rain on the cards for tomorrow but you’ll hardly feel it under the tree canopy. Closed Monday.

First Wednesday workshop in Kerikeri done and dusted 🔧🚲

A big thank you to everyone who came along to our first Basic Bike Mechanics session. It was awesome to see people getting hands-on, asking questions, and building confidence with the little fixes and checks that make a big difference out on the trails.

We’ve intentionally kept these workshops small, with a maximum of 6 people, so everyone gets the time, attention, and support they need. We want it to feel personal, practical, and relaxed — no pressure, no silly questions, just useful skills and good bike chat.

Thanks Kerikeri for the warm welcome. We’re excited to keep this workshop series rolling on Wednesdays.

If you’d like to join a future session, send us a message or email [email protected].
