❄️ Tongariro Alpine Crossing – Weather Update ❄️

We’re seeing a cold snap roll through over the next couple of days, with strong winds and some snow forecast for Monday and Tuesday. Alpine conditions can change quickly up here, so please keep a close eye on updates if you’re planning to hike.

The good news? 🌤 Wednesday is currently shaping up to be a much calmer and clearer day — fingers crossed the snow doesn’t settle and we wake up to a fresh but beautiful Crossing!

If you’re heading up this week, please make sure you are well prepared:

✔️ Warm thermal layers
✔️ Windproof & waterproof outer layer
✔️ Hat and gloves
✔️ Plenty of food and water
✔️ Sturdy footwear (no sneakers or denim)

Alpine environments demand respect — being properly prepared makes all the difference between a tough day and an epic one.

We’ll continue monitoring conditions closely and will update as needed. Stay safe and dress warm out there! 🏔🔥
