⛵✨ A Story Worth Continuing ✨⛵

A difficult decision for my best double-handed sailors ... but life sometimes writes unexpected chapters. 💙⛵

AMEL Santorin ketch 1995 in New Zealand 🇳🇿

Arantelle, our floating home and faithful companion through oceans, storms, laughter, tears and dreams, is now offered for sale.

For years, she has safely carried us across the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, proving herself to be a comfortable, capable and trustworthy blue-water cruiser. Together, we have crossed oceans, explored remote islands, weathered storms, celebrated sunsets, and built a lifetime of memories aboard her.

From the Mediterranean to the Caribbean, Panama, French Polynesia, the Cook Islands, Tonga, Fiji and New Zealand, Arantelle has always brought us home.

For the right sailors, she is ready to continue her story and create new adventures beyond the horizon.

And what a story she still has to tell...

📩 Contact us for details.

Fair winds, kind seas, and beautiful new horizons. 🌊✨

We had been dreaming of this first sailing-outing after being stocked during long months of repairs, upgrades, waiting for our new sails… and the haul-out — and what a comeback! 🌧️☀️🌧️

We set off from Town Basin marina deep located in the Haiatae river in Whangarei/🇳🇿 under a break of sunshine after the rain, winding our way down the long river between showers and bursts of light.

At the river mouth, the Pacific welcomed us back—wild and untamed—with strong gusts and a restless swell driven by the currents. 🌊⛵ (my Firstmate couldn't record this moment as it arrived by surprise! )

💨 Back into the wild Pacific Ocean
Sofar, we are all safe, trying to re-adapt at a rolling/windy mooring

Just received one of our two mainsails.
Our Genoa is now beautifully bright white and installed after three months of waiting…
Now we’re hoping to get our spinnaker soon too, the kiwis love to take all their time!!
Arantelle is slowly dressing up again, her sails catching the light like fresh wings ready to fly..
One step closer to the horizon.

Summer in New Zealand. Allegedly.
Three months of rain, temperatures bravely attempting 12–22°C, and us still dressed like we’re halfway to Cape Horn. Missing Fiji’s 35°C and questioning our life choices 🌧️🥶

But no worries—c’est la vie.

Arantelle is living her best spa life: pampered, refitted, tweaked, and endlessly “almost ready.” We both Marc Benoist & Rosamaria Castillo-Benoist, on the other hand, have developed Olympic-level patience.

So we’re still here, loitering professionally at the dock, waiting to set sail… just as soon as the sailmaker remembers that the sails ordered last November are, in fact, sails 😜⛵

Oh—and before I forget: wishing you all the very best for the months ahead in 2026.
And yes… we really enjoyed reliving our best moments of 2025—proof that sunshine does exist somewhere 😏🌊

Greetings to you all family and friends, around this world! Thanks for keep following us! 🧜‍♂️🧜‍♀️⛵🙏

A Title with New Zealand Must Be Earned Under Sail

Vuda - Fiji → Aotearoa - NZ

We left the islands behind — their warm winds, their laughter — and pointed the bow south, toward the unknown. The ocean changed its face with each sunrise: one day all shimmer and silence, the next all fury and foam.

At times the sea lay still, breathless, our compass needle wandering as we motored through the mirror of a windless world. Then suddenly came the growl — forty knots instead of ten — waves rearing high, rain lashing, nature reminding us who’s in charge.

Between machine hums and rodeo rides, we learned patience, resilience, and the art of trust. Each watch became a dialogue with the elements, each dawn a small victory. Sleep was scarce, courage constant.

Now, as Aotearoa draws near, still 80MN to go, fatigue and wonder blend into one emotion — something like reverence.

The sea has tested us, stripped us, blessed us.

We carry its diamonds in our eyes. 💎

---

“Aotearoa” — the Māori name for New Zealand — means “the land of the long white cloud,” as seen by the first Polynesian navigators who reached these shores by sea.

🇫🇯 Fiji — Last Horizons of the Pacific

Fiji welcomed us early August 2025 with warmth and spice — Savusavu, our first peaceful haven, offered calm waters, gentle smiles, and time to breathe again.

Further east, the Lau Islands revealed another world — remote villages, Sunday songs, endless turquoise. Few comforts, but hearts wide open.

Then came Suva, vibrant and chaotic, where rain, rust, and crowds met laughter, colors, and life.

Our journey ended in Vuda Marina, a safe circle for repairs, friendships, and the quiet preparation for our next leg sailing of the season towards New Zealand.

From Fiji, we carry the raw beauty, the luminous faces, and a single word that says it all — Moce mada, see you soon.

🧜‍♂️🧜‍♀️⛵🙏 "Vinaka vakalevu vei kemuni na tamata totoka mai Nawi."

After a magical month at Nawi Island, we set sail again, enjoying 15–20 knots of upwind breeze for five hours to Koro Island.
Warm greetings from fellow sailors, a stop at a small resort, and simple shared moments over drinks made the journey special. The bay is spacious but bumpy, requiring careful navigation around coral reefs. Koro’s charm lingers in its myths: ancestral spirits, protective sea creatures, and rocks said to be transformed chiefs — a place where history and legend meet.

Greetings to you all family and friends, around this world! Thanks for keep following us!
