🌺🌊 What an incredible day for Arai Roa 🌊🌺

Our amazing Calista hosted 22 University students from Florida through two waka ama sessions here on Waiheke 🙌

From learning the basics right through to steering on the moana in beautiful conditions, the group experienced not only waka ama, but the warmth, culture and manaakitanga of our community 💛

The day finished with kai, kōrero and plenty of smiles — with many of our manuhiri reluctant to leave the island after creating such special memories with us 🌊✨

A massive kia ora to Calista for leading today so admirably, and to her whānau for supporting the kaupapa and helping make the experience so special for our guests 💪🌺

Moments like these show what Arai Roa is truly about:
🌊 Whānau
🌺 Community
💛 Connection
✨ Sharing culture through waka ama

Tumeke mahi everyone 🙌

💛 Ngā mihi nui whānau 💛

A huge thank you to everyone who donated their time, brought baking, helped on the stall, popped by to support us, or even just sent good thoughts our way 🙌🌭🍪

It was a successful day for Arai Roa and we’re so grateful for the support from our amazing community 🌊

These fundraisers help support our club, our tamariki, equipment and getting more people out on the moana 💪🌺

And the good news… another one is coming up in a couple of weeks 😊

Keep an eye on the page for details 👀

🌊 Kia ora whānau 🌊

Unfortunately, our Saturday 16th 7am session has been cancelled due to low numbers.

A huge thank you to everyone using the poll system 🙌 It really helps Noema make the best call for our time on the water and avoids unnecessary loading, setup and waiting around so we can all enjoy our spaces together 💛

Please keep responding to the poll listed in our WhatsApp chat when it’s posted — it’s super important for planning sessions and making sure we have enough paddlers and helping hands 🌺

Meanwhile… Noema will still be out there on her W1 braving the “freeze-your-butt-off” conditions 🤣🌊💪

Have an awesome weekend whānau

🌊 A little reminder from Noema 💛

Being out on the water is more than just paddling… it’s about relaxing, resetting, and becoming one with the elements around us 🌺

Taking time to let the stress of the day go…
Being present with yourself, your whānau, and the beauty of the moana 🌊

Keeping things simple.
Laughing together.
Breathing deeply.
Enjoying the time we have with each other 💛

That’s what Arai Roa is all about 🙌

“Stunning time out there…” ✨

Kia ora to Juan, Linda, Amelia, Ruiha, whaea Gillian and koro Jack 🌺
Team efforts on and off the moana — tumeke team mahi 💪🌊

Thank you to everyone who joined us today, the wairua was beautiful 💛

Have an amazing weekend whānau 🌺
