Morning Team,
With four and a half weeks until the end of Term 3 I would like to highlight and clarify some
key events:
Senior Training Seminar (Purple – Black Belts):
Saturday 31st August, 9:00am – 12:0pm in the Big Room. Covering Brown – Shodan syllabus
in preparation for the senior grading next term. Please bring a plate if staying for lunch. Cost
$20.
Junior Kyu Grading (White – Blue Belts):
Thursday 19th September 4:00 - 6:00pm (usual class time). I’m trialing a new concept were
instead of an examination we will instead run a seminar covering the progressive syllabus for
each grade. This ensures that all students can consolidate their current kyu grade and prepare
for their next terms syllabus.
There will still be kata pressure testing and the traditional “spirit tests” of press-ups at the
end!
Outstanding Fees:
Can students/Parents please check that this term’s training fees have been paid? Also, some
fees still outstanding from the last grading.
Student Training Manual:
This is almost ready to go! It contains all the history, terminology, grading syllabus and
information you need. Detailed training videos covering Karate and Kobudo kata, bunkai and
drills will be published ongoing on the secure Members Area on our new website (under
construction).
Okinawa:
It's now final countdown until we return to Okinawa during the first week of the holidays to
train with Nakamoto Hanshi and our senior Sensei. We are all training very hard!
Peter, Cheryl, Matija, Locky and Daichi are Black Belt testing in Okinawa Goju Ryu. Peter,
Cheryl, Matija and Stu testing for Black Belt in Ryukyu Ufuchiko-Den Kobujutsu. I am
testing for a senior Dan grade in Kobujutsu.
