It’s a tough gig being the emotional-support mini, and Lord Louie takes his job VERY seriously… 😂

With spring shows on the radar, it was time for a full trim-up to reveal that svelte little form hiding underneath all the fluff. 🫣✂️

Out came the Hairy Pony Tail Trimming Scissors, ecohorsenz Bubblegum Shampoo, HSE Hot Oil and the clippers👨‍🦲.

And the pièce de résistance… a brand-new Horseware Ireland rug (yes we CAN get little sizes too). 💙

❄️ BANISH THE BALD BITS 👨‍🦲

Winter rugs have done their job, but they can sometimes leave behind the odd rubbed shoulder, patchy coat or slightly bald bit.

⏳️With spring show season creeping closer, now is the time to spot them and start sorting them!

🩹First things first: if the skin is pink or tender, reach for a topical antiseptic and let it heal before applying any hair-growth products.

Once the skin is healthy, our go-tos are:
🧈 HSE Batana Butter for targeted bald patches
✨ HSE HG Serum or Hairy Pony Hair Repair to encourage healthy regrowth
💙 Carr & Day & Martin Canter Coat Shine sprayed daily to help reduce friction

🎉 ONE EPIC FIRST YEAR… 🐴✨

It’s been a BIG 12 months since The Cleanest Horse opened its doors—and its website! 👩‍💻

In that time, we’ve:

🧴 Sold a whopping 352 litres of shampoo

🖤 Sent out 120 bottles of hoof black

☔ Covered New Zealand in Horseware Ireland rugs, from Northland to Northern Southland and everywhere in between

🤍 🤎 Adopted one small emotional-support pinto, and become huge fans of one much larger one. We’ll forgive him for not liking the rain…

🛍️ Taken our shop-in-a-horse-float to three epic events, with three more already planned for spring

🐴 Sold more false tails than anyone probably cares to admit, both here and across the ditch. Tails so good nobody needs to know they’re falsies…

👖 Sold so many pairs of two-tone BARE tights that the RAS got its knickers in a knot

🌧️ Taken Dannevirke Showing champs by storm, in an actual storm, with our shopping, hilarity and banter (came away with a swag of ribbons too 🎀

And somehow turned one wee brown Thoroughbred into a full-blown community horse.🤎🫏

One horse. Three ways. 🫣😂

Fair to say, these are all milestones in one pretty epic first year!👏

⏳️Now spring show season is coming, we want to make sure you’re ready to put your best hoof forward, rather than being left floundering in the last of the winter mud.

Well, that was one VERY busy weekend! 🐴🛍️✨

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by our little shop-in-a-horse-float during Marlborough Trophy Dressage and Top of the South Eventing, whether you came in for a browse, grabbed a bargain, asked for advice or simply popped in for a chat.

We absolutely loved being back in the thick of Pony Club life: beautiful horses, fabulous riding and two cracking days of dressage and eventing at Marlborough Equestrian Park.

A massive thank you to the organisers, volunteers, judges and helpers who put together such a brilliant weekend—and to every rider, parent and supporter who backed our wee local business.

We came home with a much lighter float, so thank you all for your support! 💕

Dressage Saturday. Eventing Sunday. Shopping all weekend.

Thanks for having us, we had an absolute ball going back to Pony Club! 🥰
