Big weekend of finals cricket this weekend!

In the OLT Borton Cup we've got Union taking on Oamaru from 11:30am at Whitestone Contracting Centennial Park 1.

And then in the Club 30 Final we have Albion up against Union from 1:00pm on the Whitestone Contracting Centennial Park Outer Oval.

Following the games conclusion, we will be having prizegiving at the Excelsior Clubrooms. All are welcome to attend.

Please note: If the finals are delayed on Saturday due to poor weather the Sunday is allocated as the reserve day.

Albion and Union will battle it out in the Club 30 Final at Centennial Park Outer Oval after beating Valley and Oamaru in the Semi Finals on Saturday.

At Centennial Park Outer Oval, it was a low scoring affair but Albion came out on top over Valley by 4 wickets.

Valley won the toss and decided to bat first and were bundled out for 100 in the 25th over. Riley Sheehan top scored with (26).

Albion’s Job Varghese (Three for 9), Phoebe Dundass (Two for 14) and James Nicol (Two for 28) were the best of the bowlers.

The run chase wasn’t easy for Albion but they managed to achieve the target in the 25th over by the loss of 6 wickets. Albin Mathew top scored with (24).

Beant Singh (Three for 13) was the best of the Valley bowlers.

At Weston, it was a 7 wicket win for Union over Oamaru.

Oamaru won the toss and opted to bat first and found themselves being skittled for 109 in the 26th over. Francois La Grange top scored with (38*).

Union’s Hayden Armstrong (Two for 16), Keelan Chetty (Two for 17), Anuj Mishra (Two for 25) and Jeff McCormack (Two for 32) lead the attack.

The target was comfortable for Union as they reached the target in the 25th over with the loss of 3 wickets. Keelan Chetty top scored with (40*)

Oamaru and Union will battle it out in the Borton Cup Final at Centennial Park after beating Glenavy and Albion in the Semi Final on Saturday.

At the King George Park, it was a 6 wicket win for Union over Glenavy.

Glenavy won the toss and opted to bat first and posted 205 all out in the 35th over. Jordan Mulligan top scored with (75) with assistance from Rodney Van Leewuen (44) and Matt Tangney (30).

Union’s Liam Mavor (Five for 58) and Brad Fleming (Four for 51) did the damage with the ball.

The run chase for Union was achieved by the loss of only 4 wickets in the 43rd over. Tom Shields lead with the bat scoring (59) with contributions from Blake James (38*), Blake Martin (33) and Jeremiah Shields (24).

At Centennial Park, it was a 135 runs that kept Oamaru at bay over Albion.

Oamaru won the toss and decided to bat first and posted 277/6 in their 50 overs. Luke Taylor lead the way with the bat with (104*) with help from Quinn Wardle (37), James Ferris (36), Hunter Wardle (32) and Stephan Grobler (27).

Aneesh Bose (Three for 54) and Tom Squire (Two for 42) were the best of the Albion bowlers.

Albion struggled in their run chase as they were bowled out for 142 in the 35th over. Amal Asok top scored with (41) followed by Tom Squire (28) and Sabareesh Ramesh (22).
