Brahan Sport Horses Brahan Sport Horses is a boutique stud focusing on breeding performance horses and ponies In those days some of the paddocks were a 100 acres or more.

I was born in Cambridge and spent the first nearly 6 year of my life in Leamington. The first pony we had was a lovely grey Welsh Mountain pony lent to us by friends of our family, Jack and Velma Watson. She was called Shamrock and as well as Shamrock, my elder sister and I regularly rode my father’s TB polo ponies. Just before my 6th birthday our family moved to Tahuna where my father had bought a hill country sheep and cattle farm. My sister and I had a glorious time riding over the farm helping our father do stock work. Approximately 20 yrs ago I was lucky enough to buy a block of land half way between Hamilton and Raglan, which was when I started breeding horses and ponies. Over a period of time I have refined what I was breeding. My aim was and continues to be to breed good all round sensible horses and ponies that can compete successfully across all disciplines. I also want to breed quality coloured horses and ponies. I currently have two stallions, Brahan George of the Jungle and Tallentire Ozzie. Their progeny are now demonstrating significant performance ability, confirming the direction of my breeding programme.

I recently joined SPHANZ, and have registered the progeny from the last couple of years with them, by Brahan George of the Jungle, Tallantire Ozzie, Brahan Highland Laddie, Brahan Havana, Brahan Ammunition and Brahan Lionheart with them.

Those stallions already have their DNA with EPAGSC at Massey University.

If anyone wishes to register progeny bred by Brahan Stud, I am more than happy to fill in the Application form for the passport, the Pedigree Chart and do a Service Certificate.

These can be sent to the owner for completion.

Owner will need to and pay for:
a) Join SPHANZ: Membership Fee for SPHANZ $20
b) Registation of horse/pony for a passport $50
c) Horse/pony will need a Vet filling in the identification form of the markings and microchipping _ I cann't give you a cost of this, as they will vary.
d) DNA verification of stallion, if they wish, not required. I am not sure of the cost.

This means your horse/ponies breeding will be verified, and they will have a passport.

4yo Welsh Cob mare standing 14.2hh.

Broken in 2025 and taking everything in her stride. She's been farm, road and beach hacked, attended local shows, and is proving to be a straightforward young mare with plenty of talent.

By Nitro Troon Typhoon out of Awatea Sasha, Suki is a full sister to Nitro Candy Crush and has all the ingredients to make a quality competition pony.

Suki is currently with Ruby Morgaine Eventing, continuing her education and gaining valuable competition experience.
