TDCC LIFE MEMBERSHIP | At our recent AGM our newest Life Member, Lauren Down, was inducted. Her nomination included the following commendations:
Lauren is a proud member of the Takapuna District Cricket Club pathway, having developed her cricket through the club before progressing to representative honours. Her formative years at Takapuna (pre‑2010) played an important role in shaping both her cricketing ability and her approach to the game.
From Takapuna, Lauren advanced to the Auckland Hearts at just 16 years of age, where she went on to enjoy a distinguished domestic career spanning more than a decade. She represented Auckland on over 200 occasions across all formats and was a key contributor during one of the most successful periods in the history of Auckland women’s cricket.
Lauren’s consistent performances at domestic level earned her selection for the New Zealand White Ferns, where she represented her country in 48 international matches.
Importantly, regardless of the stage on which she has played, Lauren has remained one of TDCC's strongest advocates......she has continued to proudly acknowledge her roots at Takapuna and speak positively about the Club. She has inspired younger players and reinforced belief in the opportunities available through the club. Her professionalism, humility, and team‑first attitude exemplify the values TDCC seeks to promote.
She embodies the values of the club and remains a role model for current and future generations, making her a highly deserving recipient of TDCC Life Membership.
