Compiling a top 25 for a club with our history is a massive task. Mitten’s process wasn't just about picking the players with the flashiest skills or the most trophies. He looked at the whole package: longevity, pure footballing ability, character, and their lasting impact on the club's identity. It was about defining who truly embodies the spirit of Manchester United. By those metrics, nobody else comes close.

First the mental strength this man possessed is just unimaginable. To survive the Munich air disaster in 1958, lose his closest mates, and carry that immense survivor's guilt would break anyone. Instead, he became the heartbeat of the rebuild, leading us out of the darkest days to lift the European Cup a decade later.

Sir Alex Ferguson called him the absolute definition of "world-class." He glided across the pitch, completely two-footed, and could smash in a rocket of a shot without even breaking his stride. To score 249 goals in 758 games, mostly from midfield, is absurd.

Long before the Premier League TV money, Sir Bobby made us a global institution. He won the Ballon d'Or and the World Cup in 1966. When the team landed in Argentina, the airport announcer literally introduced him as 'El Supremo'. He was a global icon who made the world fall in love with United.

He celebrated the ultimate glory and suffered the deepest pain, yet never lost his humility. He was the ultimate gentleman. He was a working-class lad who went through absolute hell, conquered the world, and stayed a proper, humble gentleman through it all.
