Torque School of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Self defence - Tutukaka Coast Fabio is certified as a 5th Dan Professor by the Grand Master Robson Gracie.

TORQUE is an International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) certified team and school of BJJ and Self defence, which is led by Head Professor Fábio Machado. Torque is an International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) certified team which is led by Head Professor Fábio Machado with the rank of black belt 5th dan. He has over 30 years of BJJ experience and has competed at the highest Int

ernational level but he is also a family man who understand what it takes to live a balanced life. He is currently the only BJJ Blackbelt World (2x in Las Vegas and 1x at Tijuca Tennis Club in Rio de Janeiro) and South American Medalist (1x) teaching in New Zealand. Professor Fabio is also a Blackbelt in Judo and became NZ North Island Judo Champion, NZ National Medalist and BJJ Pan Pacific Medalist in 2019 and Blues Awards Winner in 2020.

Exciting News for the Future of BJJ!

Last Saturday, Professor Fabio Machado led the first-ever Referee Course aligned with the potential BJJ Olympic rule set at Life Space Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu School in Hamilton. It was an incredible experience meeting such a passionate group eager to learn about the future of our sport!
