💯 HARRY DARKE 100 GAMES 💯

This Saturday, we celebrate a special milestone for Harry Darke — the first player in the modern era of New Plymouth Old Boys’ Hockey Club to reach 100 games.

A Premier Men’s A defender, Harry is the kind of player every club needs. Solid, dependable and committed — a player who consistently puts the team first and gets the job done.

But Harry’s contribution to NPOB goes well beyond the field.

He has served on the committee, given his time to the club, and plays an important role in helping local young players make the transition from high school teams into the club. He has been part of the pathway, helping connect generations of players and keeping the club moving forward.

Harry is part of the thread that weaves through NPOB connecting our past, our present and our future and he continues to be so.

We’d love for the whole NPOB family to come together and celebrate Harry’s achievement.

A huge congratulations to our eight New Plymouth Old Boys’ Hockey Club finalists who have been recognised in this year’s Taranaki Hockey People’s Choice Awards.

We’re incredibly proud to see so many of our players nominated across both our Premier and Championship teams. Your commitment, performances, and contribution to our club have been outstanding all season.

A special shoutout to two of our finalists who also claimed the 2026 Premier Top Goal Scorer honours:

15 is here and we are all for it. All teams in New Plymouth this week with Premier Women’s Black opening up the weekend vs Stratford for their last round robin game.

Premier Women’s White have their last round robin and Challenge Shield match of the season vs Taranaki Northern United HC Wildcats. Championship Women’s Yellow play their first playoff game vs Stratford and Championship Men’s B with their final round robin vs TNUHC Kahu.

Unfortunately Premier Men’s A have had their game cancelled due to Stratford A defaulting.

The wait is over! Tomorrow morning, New Plymouth Old Boys Hockey Club’s own Kelly Sutherland and the New Zealand Over 40 Women’s team begin their World Cup campaign against Australia.

🇳🇿 New Zealand vs Australia 🇦🇺

After months of preparation, Kelly will proudly step onto the pitch on the world stage as she represents New Zealand at the 2026 World Masters Hockey World Cup. We know the entire NPOB whānau will be cheering her on from home as she takes on the current title holders in their opening match.

If you’re up early (or setting the alarm!), all matches will be streamed live via World Masters Hockey TV.

🖤 Club Day Results 💛

Club Day delivered a great day of hockey, club spirit, and silverware.

The day kicked off with our Championship Women’s Yellow side showing plenty of grit to fight back and earn a 2-2 draw against Toko. Championship Men’s B went down 2-4 to a strong Toko side, who also claimed the Championship Men’s Challenge Trophy.

Premier Women’s Black battled hard for a 3-3 draw with TNUHC Wildcats, while Premier Men’s A continued their impressive season with a 3-0 win over TNUHC Raptors, retaining the Premier Men’s Challenge Trophy.

Premier Women’s White secured a 3-2 victory over Taranaki Masters to retain the Premier Women’s Challenge Shield.

A massive thank you to everyone who helped make Club Day a success. From the volunteers running the BBQ throughout the day to our supporters on the sideline. We wrapped things up with a great evening at The Good Home celebrating everything that makes our club special.
