What a beautiful afternoon we had today for the Club’s Closing Day/presentation of Trophies - A great turnout of members for a very enjoyable afternoon -We started off with a small Mixed Fours Tournament kindly sponsored by Stumble Inn. Three games of six ends followed by afternoon tea and then the Presentation of Trophies for the year was completed.

The Club had a great season this year overall considering the crap weather we had at the beginning of the season. We did manage to get most of our competitions completed so that was pleasing - It was nice to get new members who have fitted in to the Club really well. Big thanks to everyone who has helped out with various things during the season - This is always most appreciated - Without your help the Club would not run so smoothly.

The winners for the afternoon tournament were as follows:

Winners: Val McEldowney, Jeff Blyde, Gael Keighley & Eldon Peters
Runners Up: Geoff Helms, Carolyn Batchelor, Grayson McEldowney & Wade Donovan
Third: Tobyn Hori, Lyn Weir, Tony Earl & Barry

Another three finals completed - The Ladies & Mens Champion of Champion Singles & the Abrahams Ladies Open Triples.

Our three ladies - Anne Brophy, Val Symes & Val McEldowney came out winners of the Ladies Open Triples - Congratulations and well done girls. Great result.

Both Margy & Bart were Runners up of these Championships. Very close games with the scores in both games being 20/21 - Great results by the both of you. Only 1 point in it.

Well what a very successful day for New Plymouth today - You have certainly all done the Club proud and should all hold your heads high. Now time for a well deserved break.

This afternoon in cold, blustery conditions our ladies got out and played for the Una Maha Trophy. It was Club Fours (drawn teams)
Was great for us all to get together again for some fun and enjoyment.

The winners of the trophy were Margy Carey, Lenore Ayling and Heather Thomas - Well done ladies.
