GREEN ARMY MATCH WEEK

Well well well
 what do we have here?

A little North/South rivalry this weekend as Hawera Football Club Inc
rolls into town looking to spoil the party.
Unfortunately for them, Sutherland Park isn’t exactly known for handing out hospitality points.

SATURDAY 27th JUNE

MTF Finance New Plymouth
DIVISION 2 vs Hawera
Sutherland Park
12.45pm Kick Off

The lads are back at home and ready to defend the fortress against the southerners.

The challenge is simple:
Keep the pressure on.
Keep the Green Army rolling.
And preferably send Hawera home discussing what might have been.

The faithful know the assignment.
Get loud.
Get proud.
Get behind the boys in green.

Novotel New Plymouth
DIVISION 3 – KILLER BEES

The Bees score themselves a bye this weekend.

We’re not saying the swarm has earned a rest

but we’re also not saying they won’t be conducting important post-match lemonade research from the sidelines.

Fear not Bee fans, they’ll be back buzzing
Next week

SUNDAY 28th JUNE

Megan Zeylemaker - Professionals Real Estate
WOODLEIGH WĀHINE vs Hawera Women
Sutherland Park
10.00am Kick Off

The rivalry continues on Sunday as our Wāhine take on Hawera’s women in what promises to be a cracking contest.

These ladies never take a backwards step and will be looking to make Sutherland Park a difficult place to visit.

One club.
Two huge matches.
One very Green weekend.
(Organic of course)

Get around the brothers.
Get around the sisters.
Get around the badge.

THIS.
IS.
WOODLEIGH.

GREEN ARMY WEEKEND WRAP UP

Another weekend in the books and while the results didn’t all fall our way, the effort, pride and passion for the badge never wavered.

MTF Finance New Plymouth
DIVISION 2

Woodleigh 1 - 2 Moturoa

The lads welcomed Moturoa AFC to Sutherland Park in a match that was every bit as tight as the scoreline suggests. Despite plenty of chances at both ends, neither side could break the deadlock in the first half.

Moturoa found two quick goals after the break before Captain Zane pulled one back from the penalty spot on his return from injury to set up a tense finish. Unfortunately the equaliser wasn’t to be, but the boys battled right until the final whistle.

MOTM Points

3 - Nick
2 - Zane
1 - Lucas

Novotel New Plymouth
DIVISION 3 – KILLER BEES

Woodleigh 2-5 Peringa United A.F.C. Inc.

Another week of growth for the swarm despite the result.

The Bees played some excellent football through the thirds and never stopped competing. NewBEE Caleb De Bruyn announced himself on debut in style, latching onto a through ball and burying an absolute top-bin left footed half volley, while Kyle added another through smart positioning in the box.

The hive continues to build.

MOTM Points

3 - Hamish
2 - Kyle
1 - Kirby

DOTD – Kirby

Megan Zeylemaker - Professionals Real Estate
WOODLEIGH WĀHINE
Woodleigh 1-9 Hawera Football Club Inc
The Wāhine made the trip to Hawera for their Duchess Plate clash and started brightly, controlling large periods of possession and creating some quality chances.

A well-worked move finished by Tilly Porter gave the Green Army something to celebrate before Hawera gained control in the second half.

Player Points

3 - Tilly
2 - Lilah
1 - Lucy

Some weekends you bring home the points.
Some weekends you bring home the lessons.

Either way, the Green Army keeps showing up, keeps improving and keeps moving forward.

We’ll dust ourselves off and go again next week.

GREEN ARMY MATCH WEEK

Fresh off a big weekend, the Green Army rolls into another round of football and the assignment remains the same

Turn up.
Make noise.
Wear green.
Go home happy.

SATURDAY 20th JUNE

MTF Finance New Plymouth
DIVISION 2 vs Moturoa AFC
Sutherland Park
12.45pm Kick Off

The lads are on a roll and looking to keep the winning streak alive. Moturoa are making the trip across town, but they’ll find a Green Army side full of confidence and a home crowd that’s worth at least one extra goal.

The challenge is set.
The fortress is ready.

Novotel New Plymouth
DIVISION 3 – KILLER BEES
vs Peringa United A.F.C. Inc.
The Hive – Sutherland Park
2.45pm Kick Off

The Bees are where they belong

LIVE FROM THE HIVE.

Peringa might think they’re coming for three points, but they’ll first have to survive 90 minutes in the swarm. Expect plenty of sting, plenty of banter, and at least one Phil Rose run that leaves defenders questioning their life choices.

SUNDAY 21st JUNE

Megan Zeylemaker - Professionals Real Estate
WOODLEIGH WĀHINE
vs Hawera Football Club Inc
Turuturu Park, Hawera
10.00am Kick Off

The Wāhine hit the road for another tough assignment, but if there’s one thing these ladies have shown all season, it’s heart, grit and Green Army pride.

No matter the score, they’ll battle until the final whistle.

So get around the brothers.
Get behind the sisters.
Pack the sidelines, cheer loud and represent the badge.

Because when the Green Army rolls into town, we don’t come quietly.

THIS.
IS.

GREEN ARMY WEEKEND WRAP UP

Another weekend in the books and another proud effort from every team wearing the green and white.

MTF Finance New Plymouth
DIVISION 2
Woodleigh 3 - 1 NPBHSFootball

After a scoreless first half packed with chances at both ends, George Bennett broke the deadlock from a set piece with his first goal of the season.

Jaedyn then doubled the lead from a Zane assist before NPBHS hit back on the counter. The final word belonged to Jaedyn though, bagging his brace thanks to a Jonny Hicks assist to seal a deserved 3-1 win.

MOTM Points

3 - Jaedyn
2 - George
1 - Jake Hill

A massive three points for the lads in green.

Novotel New Plymouth
DIVISION 3 – KILLER BEES
Woodleigh 2 - 8 Kaponga Soccer Club

The Bees continue to improve every week despite the result.

Phil and Quinn combined brilliantly for the opener before Phil added another to his tally with a determined finish. Kaponga applied relentless pressure and made their chances count, but the Bees never stopped fighting until the final whistle.

GREEN ARMY WEEKEND WRAP UP

The scoreboard doesn’t always tell the full story, but one thing’s for certain
every team wearing the green and white left absolutely everything out on the pitch this weekend

MTF Finance New Plymouth
DIVISION 2 vs Kaponga Charrua

A hard-fought battle against Kaponga Soccer Club saw the lads fall 2-1 after a tense contest.

After conceding first, the boys hit straight back to keep the Green Army dreaming, but Kaponga managed to find a late winner.

No points this week, but plenty of heart, plenty of fight, and absolutely no shortage of passion. We’ll dust ourselves off and go again next weekend.

Novotel New Plymouth
DIVISION 3 – KILLER BEES vs Eltham AFC

The Bees might not have got the result, but they certainly brought the sting.

Phil continued his red-hot form with another hat-trick, while The Stinger launched two absolute long-range missiles that would make Messi raise an eyebrow.

The team keeps growing every week, linking up beautifully across the park and proving the hive is heading in the right direction.

WOODLEIGH WĀHINE vs Moturoa AFC

Facing the defending champions was always going to be a huge ask, but our Wāhine never stopped battling.

Despite the scoreline, the ladies created several attacking chances and showed the grit, resilience and team spirit that defines this club.

POTM Points:
Lesa
Isla
Lilah for an outstanding display of composure and determination.

Win, lose or draw, we’re still one club, one family and one Green Army.

We’ll reload, reset and be back next weekend
and if history tells us anything, the comeback stories are always the best ones.

GREEN ARMY WEEKEND WRAP UP

Another big weekend for the badge and plenty to celebrate for the boys in green

🏆 MTF Finance New Plymouth
DIVISION 2
Woodleigh 5 - 0 New Plymouth Rangers AFC Old Boys

With the Challenge Cup on the line, the lads turned up ready for business.

The experienced Rangers outfit worked hard to keep things tight early, but Woodleigh’s fitness and relentless pressure eventually broke through. Goals from Micheal and Dallas gave the Green Army a deserved 2-0 halftime lead before Micheal completed his brace shortly after the restart

Not wanting to miss out on the fun, halftime sub Jonny Hicks came on firing and eventually found the back of the net after a couple of close calls. Dallas then grabbed his second of the day to seal a dominant 5-0 victory and keep the Challenge Cup safely at Sutherland Park

MOTM Points:
3 Micheal
2 Dallas
1 Jonny

Special mentions to Ridge at left back and Sanny for putting in a huge shift.

Novotel New Plymouth
DIVISION 3 – KILLER BEES
Woodleigh 2 - 0 Waitara Soccer Club

Another massive step forward for the Bees as the swarm continues to build momentum week after week

The defence and keeper were an absolute brick wall, earning a well-deserved clean sheet, while the midfield worked tirelessly linking defence to attack all afternoon. Up front, the pressure never stopped, forcing errors and creating chances.

Phil continued his red-hot form, bagging his 7th goal of the season, while Quinn produced a moment of pure football wizardry, curling a Messi-esque left-footer over the keeper and into the top corner

MOTM Points:
3 Cole
2 Connor
1 Rick

😈 DOTD: Also Rick

Two strong performances.
Two big wins.
Plenty of confidence heading into another huge weekend ahead

The Green Army is building nicely, the momentum is rolling, and the lads will be looking to carry that energy straight into next week’s battles.
