FAHS U14A vs PNBHS U15B
Youth 1 Grading Match

Feild 2, Feilding High School.
FAHS 14A went down 48-5 to PNBHS U15B on a sunny morning with plenty of early dew. This was a tough match up for our lads taking on one of the teams that often performs well in the Youth 1 competition. However it was a great chance for us to see what the benchmark is for this grade and to test our skills and commitment.
Boys High started strong and ran in some early tries as we struggled to match their physicality and structure. We were guilty of getting isolated often and not protecting our ball long enough and went into halftime 29-0 down.
After a quick chat focusing on attitude, we responded really well with a try to Elisala Malili-Malo-Lauano. Boys High were able to score 3 further tries but we competed a lot more at the breakdown and created more half chances that we couldn't quite build on.
Coaches were very pleased with the fight shown in the second half. Strong performances by Noah Johnston, Elias Ayre and Elisala, with Greg Williams picking up player of the day.
