1. How did you first get involved with golf?
Getting a set of golf clubs from my Grandad.

2. What is your favourite golf course?
Tieki Golf Estate.

3. Tell me what you want to achieve in golf?
Get onto a major golf tour.

4. What do people perhaps not realise about you?
I'm good at ping pong.

5. What would you say to someone who is thinking of playing golf?
Give it a go!

6. Favourite hole at your club — and why?
Hole 14 at Ngamotu Golf Course because you can be hitting a 50 Degree or a 4 iron into the hole in the right conditions.

7. Favourite golf memory?
Watching someone drag their dog across the hole.

8. Who would be your dream fourball?
Adam Scott, Viktor Hovland, Ryan Fox.

9. What’s your go-to club in the bag?
50 Degree

10. What ball do you use?
Bridgestone Tour bxs.

11. What music do you listen to?
Indie pop.

12. What’s the best book you have read?
The Outsiders.

What a fantastic few days of golf, competition and good vibes across Fitzroy and Ngamotu!

A massive thank you to everyone who played, helped, volunteered and supported the event. There was so much positivity around both courses, which is exactly what these events are all about.

🏆 COOPER CONQUERS THE NORTHERN EXPOSURE! 🏆

Congratulations to Ian Cooper from Fitzroy Golf Club, winner of the very first Northern Exposure Bayleys Challenge!

Ian is pictured receiving the trophy from Bayleys Regional Manager Luke Conroy — along with a pretty handy prize… a round at Tieke Golf Estate with three mates! ⛳️🔥

And it sounds like Ian enjoyed the challenge just as much as the win:

💬 “What a great concept and I can’t wait to play in the other challenges. It’s amazing to win — and what a great prize!”

It wasn’t without a few nerves though…

“I thought I had blown it! I had a terrible last hole at Manukorihi — not easy on the nerves. A par or even a bogey would have been nice!” 😂

But perhaps the best part of the Bayleys Challenge?

“I’ve now played two new courses and I’m looking forward to playing the others. Love the challenge. Amazing — thank you so much. And thank you Bayleys!”

👏 Well played Ian!

That’s exactly what the Bayleys Challenge is all about — getting out, playing different Taranaki courses, having a crack and maybe walking away with a pretty decent prize!

Having a reciprocal with another club doesn’t give you a licence to just rock up and play! 😄

Put on your smile, contact the club, book in and let them know you’re coming.

Reciprocals are a great privilege between our clubs — let’s make sure we treat the host club, its members and its course with respect.
