Sometimes you need to be at rock bottom to realise that you need to make a change. You may have wanted to make a change for a long time but just not able to do it.
=========================
You can do anything if you want it bad enough. Instead of feeling sorry for yourself, take the negative stuff thats weighing you down and turn it into motivation. To leave the depths of Rock Bottom, feel the pain but use it as a source of motivation that will propel you upwards.
=========================
When you hit rock bottom, you feel everything, and in doing so, you become more in tune to the feelings of others. Makes us more sympathetic towards others. You begin to understand what it's like for people who are struggling with pain, fear and shame.

Lloyd has given me the confidence to utilise all gym equipment on the floor and has provided me with extensive knowledge such as alternative exercises and the theory behind it. I am so thankful to have met Lloyd and no longer feel anxious training in the gym alone anymore. Lloyd is such a supportive and patient trainer and I’ve always learnt so much from the sessions I’ve had with him. From my sessions with Lloyd I’ve gained more confidence both mentally and physically and have become more determined from being pushed to my limits. I am now in a place where I never thought I could reach on my own in terms of overall fitness, strength and having a much more positive mindset. Thank you Lloyd and wishing you all the best for the future !!

=========================
Having habits can often be a good thing. When you drive to work for example, you don’t need to wonder whether you should turn left or right; the route becomes habit.
=========================
We want the brain to learn how to do those things without energy and effort. Habits are an adaptive feature of how the brain works.
=========================
But sometimes, habits can lead us astray - whether its turning to comfort food when we're sad, or having a smoke break when stressed. In order to eliminate these bad habits - whatever they may be - start with these five strategies:
1) Sink your stress levels
2) Know your cues
3) Replace a bad habit with a good one
4) Have a better reason for quitting
5) Set better goals.
=========================
All of your current habits that you have right now - good or bad - are in your life for a reason. In some way, these behaviors provide a benefit to you, even if they are bad for you in other ways.
=========================
Instead, you need to replace a bad habit with a new habit that also provides a similar benefit.
One popular method to build habits is called the 21/90 rule. The rule is simple. Commit to a personal or professional goal for 21 straight days. After three weeks, the pursuit of that goal should have become a habit.

=========================
The principle of progression states that as your body adapts to your exercise routine, you have to change it up. This can mean gradually increasing the weight, duration, or intensity of your weight training in order to see growth.
=========================
The overload principle says that the intensity with which an exercise is done must be high enough above the individual’s normal range for any desired muscle growth to occur.
=========================
The only way your body physically changes and grows is if the muscles are taxed to the point where they must grow stronger to lift that weight. When the muscle fibers are taxed in this manner, it causes micro-tears in the fibers. When you rest, these repair themselves and grow back stronger than before. The overload process causes the muscle fibers to grow stronger (and sometimes bigger) in order to handle the additional weight.
=========================
Progression is a natural part of any exercise routine. Runners push themselves to run farther and swimmers dare themselves to swim faster, just as people lifting weights may want to be able to lift heavier or longer.
=========================
It's important to regularly make headway on your strength goals by following the principles of progression and overload. If you stagnate at a set weight, eventually, your muscles won't break down and build back up strongerβ€”they'll simply maintain their strength.
=========================
Progression is a key aspect of overload. Often, people do the same workouts over and over again, which results in a level of familiarity that can slow physical progress. In order to properly overload the body, progression is key.

=========================
Are you neglecting your posterior chain during your workouts? Your posterior chain is a group of muscles that includes your glutes, hamstrings, and lower back. Training this area is crucial for achieving a well-rounded physique and improving athletic performance. Here are some of the benefits of training your posterior chain:
=========================
Better posture: A strong posterior chain helps you maintain good posture by keeping your shoulders back and your spine in alignment. This can prevent pain and injuries, especially in the lower back.
=========================
Increased athletic performance: Many athletic movements, such as jumping, sprinting, and lifting, require a strong posterior chain. Training this area can improve your power and explosiveness, allowing you to perform at your best.
=========================
Enhanced aesthetics: Developing a well-defined posterior chain can enhance the appearance of your physique. Strong glutes and hamstrings can give you a curvier, more athletic look, while a defined lower back can create a sleek and toned silhouette.
=========================
Don't overlook the importance of training your posterior chain. Incorporate exercises such as deadlifts, hip thrusts, and back extensions into your workouts to reap the benefits. Your body will thank you!

=========================
Rest days are an essential part of a healthy lifestyle and are often overlooked. Taking a break from physical activity can help your body recover, reduce the risk of injury, and improve overall performance. The time you spend of rest days can be used for stretching, foam rolling, or simply relaxing to allow your muscles to recover from the stress of your workouts.
=========================
In addition to physical benefits, taking rest days also has mental and emotional benefits. It can reduce stress and anxiety levels, allowing you yo return to your workouts refreshed and rejuvenated. Taking the time to rest and recover can also increase motivation and energy levels, making you more productive and efficient when you return to your regular routine.
=========================
So, don't be afraid to take a step back and give yourself the rest you need. Whether it's a full day of rest or just taking it easy during your workout, taking the time to allow your body to recover can have a positive impact on both your physical and mental well-being. Remember, rest is just as important as the work your put in at the gym.

What is Periodization Training?
Periodization training is a systematic approach to fitness training that involves dividing the year into specific training phases with varying goals and intensities. This method helps to reduce the risk of injury, burnout and boredom, and promotes steady progress towards your fitness goals.
=========================
Benefits of Periodization Training.
There are numerous benefits of Periodization training, including improved athletic performance, reduced injury risk, and increased motivation. By carefully planning and scheduling different training phases, you can focus on specific areas of improvement and avoid overtraining. Additionally, by continually adjusting your training program, you can keep your body and mind challenged, preventing burnout and boredom.
=========================
How to incorporate Periodization Training into your fitness routine.
Incorporating periodization training into your fitness routine is easy. Start by setting your long-term fitness goals and divide the year into specific training phases, each with its own unique focus.
For example: one phase may focus on building strength, while another phase may focus on improving endurance. Its best to work with a coach or training to best design a customized periodization plan that fits your specific needs and goals. Stay consistent and be patient, as the benefits of periodization training are most noticeable over time.

As an athlete, it is important to continuously upskill and develop your abilities in order to reach your full potential. This can be done through a variety of methods, including attending training sessions, participating in competitions, and working with a coach or trainer.
=========================
One area that is often overlooked in athlete development is the mental aspect. Mental preparation is just as important as physical preparation in order to perform at a high level. This can be achieved through visualization techniques, goal setting, and learning techniques to manage stress and anxiety.
=========================
By combining both physical and mental training, athletes can truly reach their maximum potential and achieve their goals. Remember, upskilling takes time and effort, but the benefits will pay off in the long run. So, don't be afraid to push yourself and seek new opportunities for growth and development.
=========================
Here, I went around to check out gear and learnt about the benefits of regular cold water immersion. I spent 4 minutes in this water that was sitting at 0 degrees and it felt so amazing and so refreshed afterwards.
