Hi everyone

Sorry for late information.
This post is for u15 2025 season team.
We have been waiting for Tasman rugby union decision about age grade format.
We will have same format as last year.
We will play first half of season for club competition,and half of season boys will play for school competition.
We are going to build up our team from now on,
Please get to training on Tuesday 4:30 at Greenmedow.
We will see numbers and discuss what we can do for boys.
If you can’t attend training for some reason, please let me know and keep in touch.

Club Rugby registrations are open!

New Zealand Rugby has moved to a new system so registering yourself and/or your kids will look different this year. As always, we’re here to help and try to make the new process easier for us all. We have some step-by-step instructions to follow. If you are struggling, please contact [email protected] or [email protected]

STEP 1: Create your account
Head to Rugby Xplorer Link: Rugby Xplorer Auth
Click ‘create a rugby xplorer account’
Make sure New Zealand Rugby is selected at the top of the form.
Complete the form with details of the parent, not the child.
Once complete, you will be able to login to Rugby Xplorer.

STEP 2: Link children to your account
Note: Senior players skip to step 3. Used by parents/guardians wanting to link children.

Click ‘link a new person’
Complete their details in the pop-up box.
When finished, you will be able to register your child to Stoke Rugby Football Club.
STEP 3: Register to the club
Follow this link Stoke Rugby Club Rego Link
Login, if you need to, otherwise select the profile you would like to register and click ‘next’.
When you start the form, you will be asked to enter the ‘registration type’. The terminology is different from what you will be used to. For Rippa Rugby (under 6-7 grades) select Junior non-contact and for tackle rugby (under 8 and up) select Junior Contact. For Under 14 - Under 16 select Teenage Contact. Div 2 will select Senior - Non-Premier.
Complete the form in full and your registration will be complete.

Important - clarifying payment options:
When it comes to making a payment, you have two options. Pay online or be invoiced. Unfortunately, choosing a payment option is a little confusing on the form.
If you want to be invoiced, click the checkbox that says ‘your club provides you with the option of making payment directly to you club. If this checkbox is selected, you will need to contact your club for further information.’ Then select ‘pay’. This will complete your registration and your card will not be charged. Later, the club will send you an invoice.
If you wish to pay online, leave the checkbox unchecked and select pay. You will be prompted to complete payment.
JAB and Age Grade costs for 2025 are $60
Senior Teams fees will be organised by Team Manager

Dear Parents and Age Grade Rugby Players

I hope this message finds you well. Please find below The Stoke Rugby Club thoughts in reply to a letter regarding age-grade rugby which was sent to all parents and students of Nelson College from the Principal earlier this week.

As many of you know, the ongoing debate about where our young players should be completing has been a topic of conversation recently with the decision being made that age grade rugby for the 2025 season will be run and administered by all rugby clubs throughout the Tasman Region. We want to reassure you that, in line with the union’s decision/agreement and with the full support of our rugby club, we believe that age-grade rugby should continue to be played at club level, where it has been thriving as part of the previous two seasons.

While there may potentially be pressure from a college to bring players to their programs, we firmly believe that keeping our youth involved in club rugby is the best environment for their development. It allows them to build strong connections within their local rugby community, fosters their individual growth, and keeps the focus on fun, skill development, and teamwork – all within a supportive and familiar atmosphere.

Our club is fully committed to providing the best possible opportunities for our players to grow, compete, and enjoy the game, and we are dedicated to continuing to work closely with all of you to make sure their rugby experience is positive, safe, and enriching.

We encourage you to continue supporting your child participation at the club, where their development and well-being comes first. We are excited to see them grow as players and as individuals.

Thank you for your ongoing support of our rugby community. Together, we’ll keep making rugby a game that not only develops great players but great people.

As always, I am happy to hear from anyone who would like more information or has concerns with any of the above, but please remember this should be about the players and for the better of the players or rugby growth.
