It was a busy weekend of Volleyball at the Westland Recreation Centre over the weekend with the hosting of the annual “Coaster“ Invitation Volleyball Tournament.

All those that were involved or came along to watch the matches we treated to some very polished skills and attacking Volleyball.

The Men’s Open Grade a tight contest with most matches going to a third set in order to find a winner.

The final was an all Christchurch affair with Titans and Eclipse battling it out.

The match went to the younger Eclipse team with BBC a 2- 0 win, 25/22 & 25/20.

The Mixed Open Grade saw a Nelson v Christchurch contest with Gryphon’s taking the first set 25/20 & had the younger Chaos team on the ropes & looked headed for the win, however the Chaos team battled back to take the second set 25/21 & the third set 15/10 and the match 2 - 1.

On the Greymouth front Sam Singh
take away the annual “Good Bastard” Warnzy award.
Thank you Sam for what you do for Volleyball on the West Coast.

Here are the three winning teams from the 2026 Play it Pink volleyball tournament played on Sunday at the Motueka Recreation Centre🌟🌟🌟

Saxton BDE took out the Open Women's division from 12 Bad Knees.

Waimea College 10A took out the College division with Motueka Silver as runner up

In the Spikers division Sigma Rizzlers from Broadgreen IS over Waimea Spikers.

The Saxton Sports Club AGM will be held at 6:30pm on Tuesday 28 April in the Sport Tasman Boardroom at Saxton Stadium.

All members are encouraged to attend, and it would be fantastic to have all of our volleyball teams represented.

This is an important opportunity to review the past year, discuss plans for the season ahead, and have your say in the future direction of the club.

Interested non-members are most welcome.

Spikers League Finals Night is here!! 🎉

The level of play was outstanding, with some seriously impressive skills on display all evening 💪🏐

Welcome to Spikers League Round 6!!

This week we play semi-finals among the top four teams in each division, with the winners of those matches playing finals next week.

Note that ALL available teams will have matches both weeks.

(We have two playing weeks left in this season, as Saxton Stadium will close for a lighting upgrade on 1 April.

Can't wait to see you all on Wednseday!!
