🎾 Garin College Alumni Success! 🎾

Congratulations to Garin College alumnus Harry Pugh (Year 13, 2023) on an outstanding achievement in the United States!

Harry has been named an ITA All-American, becoming just the 10th singles All-American under his coach and the first since 2023. This prestigious honour recognises Harry's exceptional performances for the Lander University men's tennis team.

During his sophomore season, Harry:
🎾 Finished ranked No. 11 in the USA in singles
🎾 Recorded an impressive 15–2 record at the No. 1 singles position
🎾 Reached a career-high ranking of No. 8 nationally
🎾 Earned First Team All-Conference honours in both singles and doubles
🎾 Was named ITA Southeast Region Player to Watch
🎾 Collected three Player of the Week awards during the season

Harry also excelled in doubles competition, finishing the season ranked No. 21 nationally alongside partner Brendan Jayaprakash.

We are incredibly proud of Harry and all he continues to achieve on the international stage. We look forward to following his tennis journey over the coming years.

Growing Tennis in our region brainstorm underway! ✅️

The combined Upper Moutere Tennis Club and Mapua Tennis Club Junior Champs were held last Sunday in Mapua.

A fantastic 34 juniors aged 5–15 competed across the grades, with some excellent tennis on display throughout the day.

Congratulations to all the winners and to every player who took part. It was great to see such strong participation, sportsmanship and enthusiasm across all age groups.

A big thank you also to the parents and supporters for the fantastic support during the day — it helped make the event such a success!
