If you wish to enquire about joining or are interested and want to come and have a look at what we do you can get hold of Bruce on 035451309 or Brian on 035267789. Cable Bay Pistol Club has been in existence since 1993, and continues to provide the opportunity to learn to handle fi****ms in a safe and responsible manner - all within a controlled environment. The club consists of male & female memb

ers of all ages, abilities and backgrounds sharing in this exciting and rewarding sport. The club has a strong core of competitive shooters who compete in national and international events who are always willing to impart their knowledge & techniques to other members. The opportunity to train and compete with these shooters provides each member with an excellent resource to help achieve their full potential. Club members meet every weekend at the Cable Bay ranges to develop proficiency in many competitive disciplines. Examples of these are IPSC Pistol, Steel Plate and 3 Gun (Pistol-Shotgun-Rifle) and each of these categories have further divisions within them depending on the equipment used. Organised events are generally held on a Sunday afternoon which allows members to engage in some friendly competition, shooting stages designed to test shooter’s firearm skills and mental agility. New members are always made welcome and are encouraged to try their hand at pistol shooting under the instruction and control of one of our PNZ qualified Range Officers. We provide hearing protectors and safety glasses for guests and have club owned fi****ms available for prospective members

As we start a new year, it's a chance to look at what we shoot and how we can improve. Maybe a change of division ? I'm also thinking it's time we did more Speed Steel. Then there is new fi****ms act and the work we are all going to need to do if we are to get a working act that's fit for purpose. Submissions are going to be very important and we will talk about them at the range. Happy new years and I'll see you at the club.

Had a group out to the club for a shoot today, and when they talk about arriving in style, they topped it as this was the parking for the day. An awesome crowd and some very good shots amongst them. Everyone had a great time. Thanks again to Johan, Chris, Alexander and Bruce for the help.

Some us went over to the Blenheim club for a interclub on Sunday, numbers were down a bit with it being a long weekend and all, But for those that managed it we had a good shoot, the boys in Blenheim set up some good stages and it was good to get to another club for a bit of fun. Johan now knows that speed loading before a match is a mistake, but we have all been there. Josh got a nice win, and we got to see how they do things over there. It will be our turn next I expect which is fine and maybe we can get a few more from some of the other clubs to join us. Next real match is in CHCH for those that both want to and can go. Hopefully the Government will back off and give us our freedoms back so more can make the trip. See you on the range sometime.

Well its 2022, and I am hoping for a lot better year than the last couple. While those that managed to go to an away matches did very well, showing the skills you have all acquired, the number of matches were limited, but this year will be better and who knows what we can all achieve in the up coming shoots. Looking forward to a full year. Stay safe and have fun.

Thanks to Malcolm for the use of his truck, we now have another shelter at the club on range 1. The iron need a little panel beating, but that won't be hard.

Note the IPSC Nationals in January have been canceled.

While we have been able to open in a very limited way under level 3. Here's hoping that we are back to level 2 for the weekend. With no cases in the South Island it seems a no brainer, but with this Government we will just have to see. So in between while we are still at level 3, single person per range and per booked is still in place. Thanks for all the help. Brian

Well the Norths have been put off until Dec, so the next big match is the Souths in Invercargill this Oct, here's hoping that the entries come out soon and more to the point that we can go to this one. Time will tell.
