I always love a good yarn so in true Tamika form - I’ll take you backwards before we go forward!!!
In our final race meeting of the 2025 season - the motor threw a leg out of bed in the super sedan final.
It was beyond a shadow of a doubt the worst way to end the season!
In the off season as you all know, the broken (borrowed 🥺) motor came out with salvaged parts and was returned to her rightful owner and the new motor went into the Pop.
Right from day dot of this season, Jesse has run our expensive little madam exceptionally well - Every event this year has seen him run better and better and his times run closer and more consistent.
It’s been bloody wonderful to see him run her so well.
This season we finish on the ultimate HIGH as The Tunnel Vision Drag Racing Team come away from The Keith Whiting Memorial as the Winners of Super Sedan!!!

Race week stuff! Reset valve lash, change out oil filter( cut the old one for a looksee😉) and get her ready to roll again! Love my new valve lash tool made from a few bits and pieces... makes things a lot easier.@

A bit late on this one but here we go! So we had a bit of a thrash to get the trans in and driveway tested( took friday off to do this so hopefully most of the neighbourhood was at work 🤣) all seemed good so Saturday it was all go! Apart from a very hairy first pass after a bit of an oil down from another racer, and the track being still very cold, she ran perfect all day! And a pb on the second pass 🤘 😁 possibly the fastest the pops ever been? Not 100% but definitely the fastest we have been yet. 10.54 @ 129.6! Then backed that up with 10.6s all day until red lighting against Dave Thelin. Been struggling with reaction times all day then tried too hard! Bit short on photos this time round but have scraped up a few fun videos, if you look carefully at the run against Adam in the blue cortina theres quite a neat bit of three wheel action mid track 🤣. Bit more pressure in the rear tyres seemed to settle things down a bit. A few things to tinker with before next meet on the 28th of March.

5 days to go... lesss go!🤘😁

Well… it’s officially the 11th hour, and we won’t be racing tomorrow. The transmission took a hit at the last meet — turns out the new motor and all its extra horsepower have a real talent for exposing weak links!

We’ve already ordered a full manual valve body and extra clutches for more bite, and the damaged pump has been repaired. But here’s the kicker: the valve body has now been ordered and paid for three times. Three different NZ suppliers advertised exactly what we needed, happily took the money, and then came back with “sorry, we don’t actually have it.” Refunds are nice, but the lost time has absolutely blown the schedule to pieces.

So, we’re now waiting for the good gear to arrive from the US mid‑Jan. The silver lining is that we’ll still have time to get the trans back together for the Outlaw 71 meet in late January. And with a few extra tweaks and tidy‑ups to things that weren’t quite right, we’ll be quicker than before — and that’s what we’re all about.

A bit gutted, but also looking forward to doing some spectating and hotdog‑sampling for a change. We pushed hard, but sometimes things just don’t fall our way.
