Nelson's Junior Golf Program

Nelson's Junior Golf Program The Nelson Golf Club junior program runs each term, Wednesday 3:45-4:45 and a Sunday 11-12. Eve Clarke our Trainee Professional is in charge of the program.

Our main focus is on getting children into the game and having fun while doing it. We run session on a Sunday from 10-11 and 11-12 also Wednesday 3:45-4:45. that is a good way to get a taste for the program or you can come along to a session in the program to see what you think. I have set it up so each junior will receive a yellow t-shirt to start with, with their name on it and this means they a

re in level 1. Through the term, we work on certain skills from the level. Once all skills are achieved they move up to level 2 and that is a redshirt and then level 3 and that is a green shirt. Each junior will get a jar, they use the jar to collect tees through the sessions. Once they have collected enough they can use the tees to purchase things from the pro shop. Apart of the signup, you will also get a Minis Membership this gives you 5 chances to go on the course for as many or as little holes as you would like to play. Oliver Charles is only 8 years old, 2 weeks ago he was shooting 66 of the red tees for 9 holes and now he is shooting 52 and 115 for his first ever 18 holes. The whole family play golf and it’s awesome to see Oliver beating Mum and Nana off the red tees. Super proud of this wee young man and love coaching you! Lisa Charles
