Tongariro Hiking season is still on, although it would normally be winter conditions by now, it isn’t yet, with beautiful calm sunny days, and NO CROWDS. Hire hiking poles and boots, book a shuttle, stay at Plateau Lodge but hurry winter will come soon enough.
