When the neighbor has some spear wood, we take advantage* 😂
So we decided to make a *small traditional in-ground oven — AKA Hangī*.

Got it set up and asked my *little brother to come help*.
*Mahitahi* was good. Showing my little bros the ways my dad showed me.

*Missing my two little brothers* today.
But the whenua, the smoke, and the mahi brought them close.

And yes, *I own the rights to the music* so it’s all good lol

This is what whitebait season is about* 👊 Getting out there to *feed our family*.

Some make money... but *most of us* are out there to *feed the old ones* or those who are *working all day* and can’t get to the river.

Looking after others — *that’s the main reason why we gather*.

My family are *pros at making hāngī*.
*Kahungunu styles — Winitana, Tewhaiti, Mohi family* — we live a good traditional *in-ground oven*.

Love my family and how we get together for a *big kai and maybe a party* 👊
