A tough result to close the season ⚽️

After 10 years without a Women’s team, 2026 marked the return of women’s football to Napier Marist and this past weekend brought that first season to a close.

A huge thank you to every player, coach, volunteer and supporter who helped make it happen and represented the club throughout the year 💚🤍

⚽️ WOMEN’S FOOTBALL RETURNS TO NAPIER MARIST AFTER 10 YEARS ⚽️

After a decade away, senior women’s football returned to Napier Marist Football Club Football Club in 2026! 💚

For many of the squad, this season was their first experience playing football, with the focus firmly on learning, developing and creating a pathway for the club’s growing number of junior girls.

“We have some amazing junior girls’ teams at the club and now they can see a pathway to continue playing at Marist,” Club Chairman Don Butler said.

With a strong foundation now in place, the club is looking ahead to growing the women’s game even further at Napier Marist. 🙌⚽️

We’re looking forward to celebrating another great season of junior football at the Marist Clubrooms on 30th August 💚🤍

🕙 5th–8th Grade: 10am–11am
🕚 9th–12th Grade: 11am–12pm

The Unison Medal recognises one outstanding performer from each junior team who has shown fair play, a great work ethic and discipline throughout the season.

We’re incredibly proud of all our Marist recipients and the way they’ve represented their teams and our club this year.

That’s a wrap on the winter league for our Div 2 and Div 3 sides ⚽️

Div 2 signed off with a 2–1 win, while Div 3 were edged out 3–2 in their final match of the season.

A huge thank you to all the players, coaches, volunteers and supporters who have been part of both teams throughout the season.

Our Women’s side still have football to come and will be back in action next week 💚🤍
