ππ NOBM JUNIOR CLUB β OUR 2026 MAJOR AWARD WINNERS ππ
As our Year 8 crew finish their final season of Junior Rugby and prepare to head off to high school, Prize Giving gave us the chance to recognise three young men with three very special NOBM Junior Club trophies.
These awards are about more than just what happens on the scoreboard. They recognise talent, commitment, character, leadership and what it means to represent the Green & Blue. π
π THE CLUBβS MOST PROMISING PLAYER β JEREMIAH SENIO-MOMOISEA
Jeremiah has an incredible ability to inject himself into a game and create something from seemingly nothing.
Whether chiming into the backline, beating defenders or finding space, he was always looking for an opportunity to get his team moving forward.
Just as impressive was his work without the ball. Time and time again Jeremiah became the last line of defence, chasing down runaway attackers and making try-saving tackles that could completely change a game.
Those efforts don't always appear on the scoresheet, but they certainly didn't go unnoticed.
Jeremiah has a very bright rugby future ahead of him and we won't be surprised to see him continue to make his mark on Hawkeβs Bay rugby.

π BRENT CLEMENTS MOST CLUB SPIRITED PLAYER β FLYNN CONDIN
This trophy is named after a man who has Green & Blue running through his veins β Brent Clements β and recognises someone who demonstrates that same commitment to their team and club.
Flynn has become someone his coaches can always rely on. He leads by example, puts his team first and has played a big part in creating the culture within this group.
This season probably summed him up better than anything.
After breaking his foot, Flynn could easily have disappeared until he was fit to play again.
Instead, he kept turning up.
He was at trainings. He was at games. He helped the coaches, encouraged his teammates, kept standards high and wasn't afraid to pull the boys into line when required!
Flynn showed that being part of a rugby team isn't just about what you do when you're on the field β it's about the impact you have on everyone around you.
A very deserving recipient. Congratulations Flynn! ππ
π OβCONNOR FAMILY JUNIOR SPORTS PERSON OF THE YEAR β NOAH βBUSβ LEMALU
One of our Junior Club's major honours, this trophy recognises an outstanding young sportsman and is named after the OβConnor family, who gave many years of voluntary service to both the Junior and Senior Clubs and were an integral part of establishing our Junior Club at Park Island.
And this year's winner is certainly hard to miss!
Noah hasn't always had the same representative junior rugby opportunities as some others, largely thanks to the restrictions that come with his rather Hulk-like physique. π
But once those restrictions disappear, we have absolutely no doubt we'll see Bus making his presence felt in school First XV rugby and representative teams in the years ahead.
What impressed his coaches most this season was his willingness to do absolutely whatever his team needed.
For years he's made his name in the forward pack, but when injuries and team balance meant he was needed in the backs this year, there wasn't a single complaint.
Wherever he played, he charged the ball forward, defended tirelessly and gave absolutely everything.
He never took a backward step. He led by example. He made the players around him better.
Quite simply, when Bus isn't on the field, we're a different team.

Three outstanding young men and three very deserving winners.
As Jeremiah, Flynn, (Noah - Still has a year left!!!) and the rest of our Year 8 crew now leave Junior Rugby behind, we wish them all the very best for high school and whatever comes next.
Hopefully this isn't the last time we see these boys receiving trophies in the Green & Blue!
