Membership cancellations are a fact of life, however when it’s a reluctant one due to a professional move and the progress inside the gym has been phenomenal, they are tough to accept.
Paul allowed me to share his cancellation email………
Hi Al,
I have recently accepted a new job that is over in hastings (and i live there too), which means I won’t be able to make it to the lunch classes, which sucks. Would i be able to cancel my membership? I start new job on the 28th september, so if i’m on the weekly membership (i think i am), sometime around 25th as my last week? I have two weeks massive weeks of running then i should be able to come in for a couple sessions the last two weeks of september.
I have really loved my time at legacy, definitely felt this last stint over the last year i have actually created a meaningful legacy for myself. The main thing i have learnt is about showing up for yourself, creating habits instead of relying on motivation, and then seeing the changes when you stick to something like working out. I’m down like 30kg,ran a half marthon faster than i walked 10km the year before. I’ve ran an ultra, with heaps more running races booked in. BUt i reckon, doing the hard s**t in the gym has a flow on effect for everything else in your life ay.
The time working out at legacy pretty consistently from last august till more recently definitely laid the foundation for all those changes.
So i’d like to thank you for always pushing me, and also more recently Rikki as well. legacy is awesome, the people that i’ve worked out with are amazing too. I am gutted i couldn’t find a job closer to the gym for lunch sessions.
Thanks for all your help.
Resigning from work was hard, leaving legacy sucks as well, but i guess it’s the next step on the adventure.
Cheers, Paul Merson.
