That’s a wrap first season banked!!! Something Leo has wanted to do since he was 2 years old! 10 years of patiently waiting and his turn finally came. The speedway season was a goodie and his passion for racing is bigger than it ever has been.

A big season of learning. Leo has done so well this season and we survived without a stand down or even a call from the tower (IYKYK). Managed to tick off a few out of town tracks. Hoping next season to add a bit more travel to our race calendar. Looking forward to the next season.

A huge thank you to Michael Smith and Ivan Smith for all the work on the car throughout the season and for giving Leo all the tips on how to improve his racing.

Thanks to the club and the ministock rep Claire for an awesome season! The pits was a good vibe and was good to meet new faces.

Last hit out for the season!
Leo car has a bit of damage after palmy this weekend, so he racing Logan’s car.

It wasn’t the night we planned.. but that’s racing right!!

Race one-DNF, stalled on the restart and couldn’t get it going so got pulled off- first DNF for the season
Race two started, however it was slow on the restarts and Leo said he felt it bogging out
Race three- did not start, after both Leo and Caleb’s race two we noticed the strop holding the motor had snapped. Mike tried to get it fixed however with a two race turn around didn’t get it done.

Leo took the bad luck on the chin. He loved palmy will definitely be on our list for next year! Grateful we got in for a meeting.

Let’s try again next weekend for the final of Meeanee! Looking forward to it the last hit out of the season

Thanks Michael Smith for all the work you did last night between the races! Was a tight turn around between the two.

Unfortunately Mother Nature won and Waharoa was canned! Not to worry we hit the karts in Rotorua with our pit crew who happened to also been in Rotorua!

Next meeting.. January 10th @ Meeanee! See you there!

Race meeting number 2… not the best. Came in after the first race, Leo was saying there still no power found a broke axel. Was broken in the diff head so couldn’t fix it. Put it back together so Leo could at least do laps. Still enjoyed some battles with club mates….

In the shed to repair the diff and axel..Better luck next time?! 🤞

Thanks to Richard and Connor for helping fix it between races. And thanks to Ray Beale for letting us bring the car out few days before racing to test a few things out.

Went to Waharoa today, was in C group. Did two races got third overall. Mike had a turn racing adult ministocks to give the car a go… still have issues with power… as Mike says “no boogie”. Hopefully try fix the issues before racing on Sunday at Meeanee.
Leo loved it though was happy to have more seat time.
