I am writing this post to let everyone know that I will not be continuing in the role of womens development manager. I have really enjoyed my time in the role and enjoyed seeing the development in the game. When I took over we identified the need for change as we were down to two club womens teams. It has been awesome to see the numbers increase to a point where last season we had 9 club womens teams take the field. We have seen an increase in numbers right down to the youngsters aswell. A few years ago we only had an under 15s and a secondary school girls team. Over the last few seasons we have seen numbers increase to having two under 13 teams as well last season. I would like to thank the parents and in particular John and Pip for their help in the youngsters space. I have also decided to stand down as the Cornwall Womens coach but will continue coaching the Hastings Hibernian Ladies so you may still see me around.
Thank you all for your support over the years I know there were some hard times and some mistakes made along the way, but everything was done with no alterior motives, just to give female cricketers the opportunity to play this wonderful game.

This Sunday our Women's team are playing Manawatu with a win making them the CD champions. The game is at Nelson Park starting at 11:00am.
This would be the first time that we have won the Womens, Under 18's Under 15's and under 13's titles all in one year. Get along and support the team. Wear your HB training t-shirt and we will provide you with some lunch with the teams. We also would love to get a photo of all these teams together at one time. Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Hi everyone, Well its been an awesome week for female cricketers in the bay again. Our youngest age group have returned from the Lower North Island tournament with our Under 13 girls recapturing the cup after losing it to Wellington last year. We also took down a second team this year who played under the HB Intermediate School banner in a participation grade. These girls had a ball. 5 girls age out of this tournament and will not be back next year and it is the last time at this tournament for our Under 13 coach Jon Wakefield as Charlotte is one of those who age out.I would like to thank Jon and Pip for their efforts with this team over the past 3 seasons. For those of you who are able to return again next year I promise to continue the fun, development and excitement (including the murder mystery game). Well done girls I hope you all had fun. Bob

Congratulations to the following girls who have been selected to play in Masterton next week at the Lower North Island Development tournament. We are taking two teams (with some players from Taranaki and Manawatu due to some late unavailabilities). One team will be the Under 13 girls and one team will be the HB Intermediate School Girls.

The minivan will be leaving from Cornwall Park at 8.15am with a pick up in Waipukurau at 9:00am on Monday 20 Jan.

HAWKES BAY GIRLS MAKE CD UNDER 15s

Congratulations to Gretel Fairbrother (named in CD Under 15's before her brother was named in the Under 17's aye Gretel), Aimee Kay, Aniela Apperley and Reese Drager. These players have made the Central Districts U15 team that will play in the national tournament at Wanganui in early January. They were selected on the back of the just finished Central Districts tournament in Palmerston North where the Hawkes Bay U15 Girls demolished all comers. The team, made up entirely of players who have gone through or are current members of our Junior programme and also play for Cornwall, Taradale, Havelock North or Hastings Hibernian in the Women's competion were unbeaten and won every game convincingly. The final game resulted in a 10 wicket win.
Aniela Apperley topped the batting at the tournament scoring 195 runs at an average of 97.50
Aimee Kay was second on the batting ladder with 148 at an average of 49.33
Gretel Fairbrother was in the top 10 batting and 11th on the leader board for her bowling.
Aniela also ranked 2nd on the bowling leaderboard with Charlotte Wakefield 3rd and Jorja Earley also in the top 10 bowlers.
Aimee and Charlotte were also in the top 10 fielders for the tournament.
Awesome effort and great inspiration to all the other female players
